Story
This is Todd, named after the fox from the "Fox and the Hound". He is very affectionate when he wants to be, but also very independent. I would prefer for him to be the only dog in your family if you are less experienced. With time he warms up to any dog. He has an easier time with female dogs, due to a Shiba's dominant nature, but has lived with both male and female dogs in the past. He is 6-years old and is very quiet. I have lived with roommates and different apartments and have never had complaints about him, when he barks it surprises me because it is so rare! He is a people person and will gladly greet anyone. His favorite thing to do is people watch, so if you have a balcony or closed-in patio that is where you will find him. Unfortunately I do not have the time to give him the attention that he needs due to my job, so I am rehoming him. Experience is not a concern of mine, but please keep in mind that Shiba Inus are stubborn at times. I recommend researching the breed.

Story
Meet Haru! Haru is a 5-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul and a playful side. He absolutely loves his toys and will happily entertain himself or invite you to join in the fun. When it’s time to head outside, Haru is more than happy to go on long walks and enjoys getting out to explore at a comfortable pace. Haru has shown that he is able to escape from a fenced in yard (6 ft) so we highly recommend that he has constant supervision while outside. Haru has lived with cats and truly enjoys their company; he even likes to play with them! He does, however, resource guard his food from cats, so feeding should be done separately to keep everyone comfortable and safe. He has not previously lived with another dog, so if a canine sibling is in his future, a slow and thoughtful introduction would be important to set him up for success. When left alone, Haru does very well in his crate. His crate is his safe space, and he finds comfort there, making him an easy companion for households that value structure and routine. Overall, Haru is a very sweet, loving dog who would thrive in a calm, caring home that respects his boundaries while giving him plenty of affection, playtime, and walks. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. 💛 Haru does live with glaucoma, a condition that affects his eye pressure. He currently receives eye drops twice a day to keep him happy, comfortable, and visual.
