Story
Swiper is here to steal your heart!
Meet Swiper, a Shiba Inu-Pomeranian mix who is approximately 9 years old and weighs 24 pounds. Swiper is a survivor in every sense of the word! Not only was he a stray multiple times, but he also made it through a four-month stint in lockup at animal control, a new foster home, heartworm treatment, and surgery to remove a tumor on his foot. He’s missing a few toes now (digits 3 and 4), but if you’re a Texas Longhorns fan, you’ll think it’s pretty cool!
Swiper is looking for a quiet, respectful roommate who understands the sacred nature of evening downtime. Just one look at his sweet face, and you can see why this little guy was named after Swiper the Fox from the children’s show Dora the Explorer. While he has a cute name, Swiper would thrive best in an adults-only home where he can enjoy his golden years in peace while keeping you company.
This little fox would happily go on a walk with you, follow you around the house, explore the yard, get excited about a treat, and snuggle next to you on the couch. Swiper is a well-mannered and potty-trained dog, and he has no issue letting you know there are people outside the house while watching out the window. He tolerates other dogs but likes his space at times. He is a gentleman who would love to have your love and attention every day!
Swiper is a typical rescue dog who will need some time getting used to a new home and people; remember the rule of three for rescue dogs: three days, three weeks, three months are all milestones for a new dog in your home, and after three months, your rescue dog will finally know that he is in his furever home.

Since he is a senior citizen, his adoption fee is $200, and he is heartworm-negative, neutered, and vaccinated. He also recently had a thorough dental cleaning. Adoption fees help our rescue pay for vetting and supplies for foster dogs. Swiper is being fostered in the Arnold, Missouri area.
