**Note: currently, Beosun is in Korea, but she will fly to Toronto once adopted. Background Beosun and her sister,Hana, were rescued from a city pound in Milyang, Korea, this past summer. Since then, she has been living with other dogs at our partner boarding house, learning how to enjoy a safe and happy life. Personality and Socialization Beosun has a medium energy level and a very affectionate, social personality. She does well with other dogs, both big and small, as long as they are friendly. With people, Beosun is incredibly sweet and loving. She is smart and knows how to communicate. Even with strangers, she happily approaches them and asks for pets. She is very friendly, outgoing, and loves human attention. Behaviours Beosun is intelligent and listens well. She learns new things quickly and is very attentive. She handles car rides, baths, grooming, and vet visits without much fuss. She loves going for walks with her people and walks nicely by their side. She loves being petted more than anything and likes to stay close to her human. Even though she loves people so much, she stays calm when left alone and has not shown signs of separation anxiety, which has been very impressive. Health and Diet Beosun is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. She has been dewormed and is on regular parasite prevention. She eats kibble well and has shown no food sensitivities. When she was rescued, she had Hepatozoon from an infected tick, but she completed her treatment and is now healthy and ready for her forever home. Ideal Home Beosun is a sweet, smart, social, and easygoing girl who will make a wonderful companion. She still has a little learning to do, but her friendly and eager to please nature makes her a joy to guide. She would be a great match for many families looking for a loving companion. A home where someone is around often would be best, as she enjoys quiet company and shared time with her people. ------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/beosun/

Story
Meet Dongree   Breed: Shiba mix Age: 4 years old Sex: Spayed female Colour: Brown Weight: 14kg Height (to shoulder): 45cm   Rescue Story   Donggree was rescued from a city shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting patiently ever since for a family of her own.   She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built.   Personality & Socialization   Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you.   She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship.   Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.   Energy Level & Behavior   Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk.   She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport.   She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments.   A Loyal and Independent Spirit   Donggree is a bright, affectionate girl with that unmistakable Shiba charm — loyal, clean, and quietly confident. She may be cautious at first, but with patience and consistency, she opens up to reveal a loving heart.   Once she trusts you, she’ll become your faithful shadow, following you with her signature calm energy and gentle eyes.   Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to build trust. A home that appreciates the independent but affectionate nature of Shiba mixes would be perfect for her.   Donggree may take a little time to trust, but once she does, she’ll stay by your side for life — loyal, loving, and full of quiet strength. Story
Meet Danbi — Looking for Her Forever Family!   Name: Danbi Age: 3 years Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Shiba–Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 13kg Height (shoulder): 41cm   Rescue Story   Danbi entered a city shelter with her four newborn puppies. Sadly, all her puppies passed away there, and she was rescued on June 15, 2023. She has since spent 2.5 years living safely at the shelter and is now finally ready for a loving home of her own.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Danbi is affectionate and friendly — she approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people on her own, leans in for pets, and enjoys being touched. She likes both women and men.   She hasn’t met children under 13, but based on her calm, gentle nature, we expect she will do well with them. She can be picked up with arms under her belly, and once she bonds with you, she’ll even show her tummy for belly rubs.   Socialization with Dogs   Danbi absolutely loves other dogs. She greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs politely and invites them to play. Her dog social skills are excellent — even when another dog jumps on her or plays a bit too rough, she never reacts negatively.   She especially enjoys dogs around her size and thrives with friendly, playful companions.   Cats   She shows curiosity when she sees cats on walks but will follow her handler’s lead without pulling or lunging. A cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level   Danbi has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles calmly afterward. Inside the home, she is relaxed and easygoing.   ‍ Walking Manners   Danbi loves sniffing, so her pace is “walk–stop–sniff–walk.” She walks well in quiet areas but becomes slightly hesitant in heavy traffic. If she gets scared, she does not bolt — instead, she stays close to her handler and walks slowly beside them.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Not vocal — rarely barks • No separation anxiety • Calm in the crate • Prefers doing her potty outdoors   If you think sweet Danbi could be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application through our website Apply to foster or adopt to show him how beautiful the world can be. www.adoptmekr.org Please visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
🧡 Hi, I'm Milo 🧡 Age: 1 year Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Male Weight: 8kg (just under 18 lbs) I may be fully grown, but I’m a little guy with a big heart—and I’m ready to fill your home with love, one pawstep at a time. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. I don’t trust easily, but not because I don’t want to—it’s just that I’ve never really known what it means to feel safe. That said, I’m very curious, and I love food (especially treats from your hand!). Give me a bit of time, and you’ll see me coming over on my own, asking for pets and showing you my soft, cuddly side. Sometimes sudden movements or unfamiliar touches might startle me, so it’s best to approach slowly at first—low posture, calm energy, and of course… snacks! With your patience and kindness, I’ll learn that hands mean love, not fear. When it’s time for walks, I do best with a chest harness and a backup leash for safety—two points of security, just in case. Quiet streets are my favorite for now. With gentle exposure and encouragement, I’ll slowly grow more confident exploring the world by your side. I know I’m not perfect. I still have so much to learn. But now is the perfect time to teach me. I’m young, open-hearted, and so eager to bond. With love, patience, and a calm guiding hand, I’ll grow into a polite, loyal companion who brings joy to your everyday life. I’ve lived my life behind shelter walls—but I’m ready to trade that for warm beds, gentle walks, and a forever family to call my own. Could that family be you? With hope in my eyes and love in my little heart, Milo 🐾

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Miller Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba & Jindo mix Color: Beige & Cream Weight: 10kg / 22lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I’m not sure how I ended up all alone in the city pound, but I was placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn’t enough space for dogs like me. Despite that scary chapter, I never lost my gentle, loving heart—and now I’m just hoping to find the forever family who will give me the safe, happy life I’ve been waiting for.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues I had to undergo surgery to remove my right eye, but my left eye has good vision and no issues.   MY PERSONALITY Hi! I’m Miller. I’m not sure how my right eye got injured, but when I was rescued, it was in a very bad shape and I needed surgery to have it removed. Even with just my left eye, I don’t let it slow me down or dampen my spirit! I’m a sweet, gentle boy who truly loves people. I’m naturally a little shy at first, but with patience I warm up—and volunteers and staff can always see that I want to interact, even if I hesitate in the beginning. I’m getting braver every day, learning to trust more, and showing more of my affectionate, friendly side as I grow confident.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be shy in the beginning, but I’ll gently take treats from your hand. After I warm up, I’m comfortable with pets and gentle affection. Once trust is established, I can be picked up. I’m a sweet boy who enjoys people, and as I grow more confident and settled in my new home, I’ll become a loyal shadow. · With Dogs: I’m pretty indifferent with other dogs. I can get overwhelmed by high-energy pups and prefer to do my own thing, calmly observing the environment. If another dog is rude or pushy, I simply walk away from the drama and avoid conflict. ·With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to find the best match!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m just as happy to snuggle up indoors afterward.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and follow my handler’s lead nicely. I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs—in fact, I have a big appetite and love treats, so I’m eager to please and learn. I’m confident I’ll pick up training quickly. I’m very quiet and rarely bark, and I know how to rest calmly in my kennel. I do struggle with car rides, as I can get motion sickness. I potty both indoors (on pee pads) and outdoors, though I may mark a little when I’m adjusting to a new environment.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands my rough past and is patient with me throughout and continue to provide me with basic training and socialization. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally, a family experienced with Shibas and primitive breeds. The only dog in the household.   SPECIAL NOTES Don’t let my shyness fool you—I’m a sweet boy who really does like people. I just need a little time at first to show my affectionate side. I’m improving every day, and I’m confident that in a loving home I’ll fully come out of my shell and express myself. I wag my tail and show interest in people, even if I hesitate at the start. I love treats and I’m very food-motivated, so I’m eager to learn and please. I’m considered to be a level 3 rescue dog, meaning I will take at least a week to open up and feel more settled in a new environment. I must wear my martingale collar at all times and double-leashed to my harness and collar with a GPS tracker when outside to keep me safe.   Miller's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2595121##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Jigu  Age: 4 years old  Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Shiba Jindo Mix  Color: Brown  Weight: 18kg    All About MeShe was a dog waiting for euthanasia at a shelter in Cheongju, Korea. But thanks to a warm helping hand, she was rescued and given a new chance at life.Jigu is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but she is otherwise in good health and adjusting well. She can be a little shy at first and needs time to open up to new people, but she will gently accept treats, even from strangers. Once she warms up she becomes affectionate and enjoys being petted. She tends to bond faster with women and may need a little more time with men. She hasn’t had much experience around young children, so she may need slow and gentle introductions. She also doesn’t like being picked up with arms under her belly, as it makes her feel uncomfortable.   My PersonalityJigu is a calm and smart dog with a balanced energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, but after a good walk, she’s happy to rest quietly indoors. She’s independent but shows deep affection once trust is built. While she doesn’t guard food from people, she may be cautious if another dog approaches during mealtime so she need own time when she is eating. She also may bark to express her needs or when encountering strangers, but she settles well once she feels secure. She tends to get jealous and would do best as the only pet in the home.   Social SkillsWith people – She needs time to open up but becomes affectionate and enjoys being touched. With children – she may feel a bit unfamiliar with young children and don’t have much experience. With other dogs – She may react if another dog is confrontational, so the first meeting should be supervised and slow. She has little jalouse and prefers to be the only dog in the household. With cats – she hasn't lived with cats, and there are no observed responses.   On My Walks‍Jigu has lots of walking experience and walks very well on a leash without pulling. She enjoys her outdoor time and likes exploring calmly by your side. She prefers to go potty outdoors, though she’s capable of doing so indoors if needed.   Life at HomeJigu is quiet and well behaved. She settles down nicely in a kennel and enjoys having a peaceful space to relax. She doesn’t guard food from people and appreciates a calm mealtime without interruptions. Jigu would thrive in a gentle, stable home where she can adjust at her own pace. With patience and love, she’ll open her heart fully and form a deep connection with her family.   Special NotesFor those who offer her time and understanding, Jigu gives back the kind of trust and love that’s truly special, quiet, loyal, and full of warmth.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Jigu's YouTube Playlist ##2458345##
