Meet Yoshi!
Breed: Shiba Inu (Purebred)Gender: MaleAge: Puppy (4 months old)Size: Small/Medium ([WEIGHT])Good with: Other dogs, experienced Shiba Inu owners
Yoshi came to us through no fault of his own—his previous family purchased him from a pet store and quickly realized that their work schedule simply couldn't provide the time and energy that a Shiba Inu puppy demands. Their loss is absolutely your gain, because this little guy is something special!
At just four months old, Yoshi is already doing very well with crate training and socializing with other dogs—which for a Shiba Inu puppy is genuinely impressive. He's a very good puppy so far, with that classic Shiba confidence and intelligence already showing through. He can be a little stubborn, but if you know anything about Shiba Inus, you're already nodding your head because that's basically the breed's unofficial motto.
And that brings us to the important part: knowledge of the Shiba Inu breed is a must for Yoshi's adopter. Shibas are notoriously independent, incredibly smart, and famously opinionated. They're not your typical eager-to-please dog—they're more of a "I'll consider your request and get back to you" kind of breed. They require patient, consistent training from someone who understands and appreciates their unique personality rather than fighting against it.
Yoshi is at that perfect age where early socialization and consistent training will shape him into an incredible adult dog. He's got all the makings of a wonderful companion for the right person—someone who understands the breed, has time to dedicate to his development, and is ready to earn the loyalty of one of dogdom's most fascinating personalities.

Disclaimer: The information in this profile reflects observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We strive to describe each dog as accurately as possible; however, behavior and needs may change once the dog is in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not freeroaming in homes. When we note that a dog is "potty trained," this refers to reliable crate training, not confirmed freeroam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs are examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered if old enough, and are up to date on ageappropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. We share all known medical information, but we cannot guarantee future health or rule out underlying conditions.
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.happyfacespetranch.org
Once your application has been approved, a representative will be in touch to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog based on the dog's individual needs.
