Captain Jack Sparrow is a goofy, sassy charmer who knows exactly how to steal hearts. He adores attention and isn’t shy about asking for it! Expect gentle paw taps and some dramatic huffing and puffing if you’re a little too slow to deliver the pets he deserves. Don’t worry, though. He’s happy to wander off and do his own thing, soaking up affection whenever it comes his way. One of Captain Jack’s favorite pastimes is carrying his beloved stuffies around like prized treasures. Whether he’s parading them from room to room or settling in for a cozy moment, his plush pals are never far from his side. Captain Jack is still learning how to share his favorite treats, so he’s required to go to an adult-only home with adopters who can respect his boundaries and use positive, reward-based handling. With the right understanding and management, he can absolutely thrive. He may also enjoy having a canine companion, as long as introductions are slow and respectful to set everyone up for success. Story
Holden is a Poodle/ShihTzu mix who's 11 months old, and weighs 14 lbs. He has the softest cashmere-like hair, a beautiful blend of chestnut and cream. He recently got a short haircut, but please keep in mind that Holden is a long-haired dog and will require regular grooming. Holden is cheerful, gentle and eager to please; there is just such an innocence about him. He’s a little shy at first, but very affectionate, and he’s great with gentle kids of all ages. He also loves to play with other small dogs, but he’s a little wary of the big ones. He can be a whirlwind of puppy energy at times and is very curious about everything; he will hop up on things, or dance around on his hind legs for a better view. So cute! He’s just learning about toys, and loves to go for walks (but may need a little training to curb his exuberance). Mostly he just wants to be with his person – he’s a snuggler and a lap dog, gives lots of puppy kisses, and he will want to sleep with you. The people who had him since he was a puppy did not train him. Their version of training was to yell at him whenever he did something they didn't like. Of course that teaches him nothing, except to be fearful of them. Holden is very bright, and he's doing great and learning quickly in his foster home. If you pay attention to his cues and praise him when he's being a good boy, it won't take long to train him. He's also treat-motivated, which helps, so if you have the time and patience to train him, he will be the perfect companion and a great family dog.
