Story
Lucy is an 8 year old Shih Tzu. She is a lovely, family-friendly dog with a sweet disposition. Lucy has had recurrent urinary tract infections for 5-6 years now. All imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds) has shown no abnormality. Being on a specialty diet was initially helping, but being around small children whose food she has access to hasn’t been helpful in keeping her strictly on her dog food. We just do not have the time/energy to invest to make sure she is only eating her food, taking daily walks, and receiving the attention she deserves. She is house trained but does have accidents inside when her infections resurface. We will get her shots updated (she is just missing most recent vaccines).

He’ll need a fenced yard to keep him safe while he shows off his speed. New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
