He is on monthly heart worm, flea/tick preventative, UTD on all vaccines, rabies and been dewormed, microchipped, neutered and groomed recently. This little guy and his brother hold a very special place in my heart. I could see myself being the foster fail here but with 6 dogs, I need to do what is best for him. Cooper came to us from unusual circumstances. His owner's job took her out of the country and a family member agreed to care for them. But less than 48 hours before she was to board a plan the family member backed out, leaving her with no other options. Over the months, she has tried to return home. At the time, I was praying we could hold this sweet boy for her return, but it didn't happen. So, due to no fault of his own, he is looking for a new family. He is very shy and will steer clear of you for a while. He LOVES to sleep on the bed with you, at first coming to the top, but in a few minutes he's happy at the foot. He is a rather independent guy. He is fine with the other dogs here. He will follow you room to room but lay around on the sofa or a chair, then he plays with his toys. He loves carrying a small squeaky outside each time he goes and usually brings it back inside. He’s house trained but if left loose too many hours he will go inside on a pee pad. He is great with our 11 yr old grandson. Each morning he gets on his bed to wake him up and give kisses. He always brings a toy to the bed, like my sleepy head grandson is ready to play. When Cooper was about 7-8 months old he was in a private home for boarding and one of the large dogs got out and attacked him. He lost his left eye. It was completely removed and stitched closed. So, no meds are ever needed. If you're looking for an excellent travel partner, Cooper is your guy. He sits and never stirs around in the car. He is great at the vet's office and for the groomer. And lives to go outside in a fenced yard and run until his tongue is wagging. This breed requires maintenance of grooming at least every 8 weeks. He gets a pre/probiotic daily and he loves his peanut butter, just one small bite in the evening. He loves broccoli as well. Sometimes he eats beef liver, hearts and kidneys cooked and freeze dried as a topper. I absolutely LOVE this dog and will want a very special home for him. He really needs a stay-at-home person for him. He's not a fan of just being alone. With all the dogs here, he plays with them all the time and squeaky toys. NO CATS!!!!! REMEMBER:. All rescues need time to acclimate to new people, smells and surroundings. www.schnauzersaversrescuers.org

Story
We adopted Coco as a puppy and she was playful, sweet, and easy to train. She has high anxiety, and has a hard time at the vet. I have done all her grooming at home. She was turned away from the groomer as a puppy because she was too scared to be transferred to the groomer. She loves attention, running in the backyard, and playing playing playing. She has had more and more anxiety as our family has grown. We have younger kids who don’t understand the space she needs. She has nipped at them, but not fully bitten. We don’t want to wait until it becomes a real bite. She would likely thrive in an environment as an only pet. With older kids or no kids. She likes running so prefer a yard.

Story
🌟 Meet Scamp — 12-Year-Old Poodle Mix & Gentle Soul 🌟 Scamp is a 12-year-old poodle mix with soft ears, a tiny frame, and the sweetest, calmest energy. He’s a quiet little guy who loves cozy spots, soft blankets, and a peaceful home. 💛 Personality Scamp is slow to warm up and needs patience and gentle handling at first. But once he feels safe, he becomes your best friend — a true lap buddy, cuddle buddy, couch partner, and walking buddy. And the best part? Once he trusts you, he’ll hop right into your lap on his own, like he’s been doing it his whole life. 🐾 What He Likes • Short, relaxed walks • Sniffing the yard • Cozy naps • Soft treats • Quiet companionship 🐶🐱 With Other Pets Scamp does well with other dogs and cats, but mostly ignores them. He’s polite but not looking for a playmate — he’s perfectly happy as an only dog or coexisting calmly with other pets. 🌿 Health He has a heart murmur, but it doesn’t affect his daily life. It just needs to be monitored as part of his routine vet care. 🏡 Ideal Home A calm, patient home where Scamp can settle in slowly. If you give him time, he’ll give you his whole heart.
