Story
RAVEN: Are you looking for a loyal companion to join you for daily walks and watch your favorite TV shows with you? Raven is your girl! She’s looking for her perfect match. Here’s more about Raven:    Doodle/Poodle mix; 2-3 years old; Female, fully vetted, spayed and microchipped  Personality traits:  Although a little shy shy and timid, she is calm, loyal and affectionate. Once she learns to trust you, she’ll never leave your side. She does a happy dance when it’s time for food and gets so excited to greet you when you get home.  Likes:  Long walks, visiting local coffee shops, relaxing on the porch, calmness and routine. Dislikes:  Scary noises, sudden movements, and overwhelming environments  Quirks:  She is reserved and keeps to herself around new people in new places. She likes to observe what is going on around her and appreciates a calm environment with a good routine. She is so sweet and gentle. She can take a while to warm up and get comfortable in her new environment, so she deserves a human who will be patient and gentle with her as she learns to trust them. Raven is a delight on the leash and makes for the best walking buddy.  She gets more confident every day, loves shewing her bones and is starting to become more playful. She will do best in a home without children and with someone who enjoys walks. Raven would be fine an only dog or with another dog who is mature, calm and friendly.  Although she gets along well with other dogs, she would like her space as she gets acclimated in a new home. Apply: spiritcaninerescue.org/adopt A home visit is required!    February 25, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Looking for a four-legged best friend who prefers folk music over children and other dogs? Meet Molly, a 5-year-old white doodle with a heart as fluffy as her fur. Molly is a true people-dog — affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s curled up next to you as your co-worker, couch buddy, or audience of one. She doesn’t just tolerate music; she lives it. Turn on a soft ballad or a mellow jazz tune, and watch her entire body relax. She might even grace you with a little head tilt or a soft howl in harmony. Yes, she’s that kind of special. But like any diva, Molly has her boundaries. She's not a fan of children (too unpredictable) or other dogs (she prefers the solo act). She’d much rather be the only fur-child in a quiet, adult home where she can be adored, respected, and maybe even serenaded. Her ideal day? A morning cuddle, a peaceful walk, a little acoustic playlist during nap time, and an evening curled up at your feet.

Story
We've had our 6.5 year old dog Luna since she was 8 weeks old. She has had a great home life with toys, treats, exercise and love. She is house trained and on most days she is wonderful. We're rehoming her for behavioral issues and are looking for a home that can better give her the environment that she needs. The main issue is aggression, including resource guarding (new toys, trash, human food), thunderstorms (heightened anxiety), and some other less common situations. Her aggression is avoidable if given the right environment (it is triggered, not constant). We have a toddler that we feel safe having her around, but we are worried that at some point the wrong situation will occur and she will be aggressive to him. Other issues include reactive to dogs when on a leash or out house/car window (obsessive barking/anxiety), can often regurgitate food/water, takes anxiety medication, uncomfortably barks at new people. We'd love to see Luna find a safe home that can handle her behaviors.
