Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Topaz has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  February 2, 2026, 3:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Opal — A Little Gem with a Big Heart  Opal is a soft, snuggly sweetheart who is happiest when she’s close to her people… or even better, hanging out with her doggy friends. She has a gentle, loving soul and a quiet, easygoing presence that makes her a wonderful companion for a calm home. One of Opal’s favorite things in the world is food and treats — and she gets adorably excited about them! She’s not an aggressive girl at all, just enthusiastically motivated and guaranteed to make you smile when snacks are involved. Treat time is truly her happy hour. Opal can be a bit cautious when approached too quickly, especially with loud or rambunctious energy, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into a total cuddle bug. She loves going outside to sniff, basking in the sun, and show off her signature potty-time zoomies — they’re as cute as they sound! Her bark is equally adorable, though she rarely uses it. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would love a canine buddy to share her days with, though she’d also be content as long as she has a devoted human to attach herself to. She’s beginning to explore toys and learning what’s okay to chew and watching her discover these “new” joys is incredibly heartwarming. Opal prefers a quieter home without small children and appreciates patient, gentle guidance as she continues learning her routines. When she feels unsure, she’ll sweetly choose to relax in her crate on her own — she’s very good at advocating for herself. If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion with a tender heart, a silly food obsession, and a whole lot of love to give, Opal may be your perfect match. Opal's adoption donation is $500 and she is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. She has been completely prepared for her new life—she's been spayed, microchipped, and is current on all vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella). She has tested negative for heartworms and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Opal has also had a dental cleaning, so you can focus on what matters most: bonding with your new cuddle partner!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Topaz — a Little Gem Looking for Her Person Topaz is every bit as precious as her name suggests. She’s a gentle, affectionate girl who thrives on companionship and loves being close to her person. Topaz adores belly rubs, cuddles, and cozy naps. Soft toys are her favorite—especially crinkly ones—and she enjoys treats and toys she can easily carry around. When it comes to car rides, she’s a dream companion and often curls up and falls asleep in her car seat. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her friendly and loving personality really shines. Topaz does best in a calm, reassuring environment and bonds closely with her people. Topaz enjoys running and playing, especially in a fenced yard, and also does well going for walks—she will happily potty while on leash. While no dog is ever guaranteed to be house trained, Topaz does very well when kept on a consistent schedule and understands how to alert when she needs to go out. As with any new home, a transition period should be expected. She is wonderfully easygoing with others and tends to ignore most animals she encounters—including dogs, cats, and even more unusual critters! Because of this, a companion animal is not required for her happiness. She also does well with children. Topaz at a glance: Loves: Cuddles, belly rubs, naps, treats, soft/crinkly toys, being with her person Car rides: Excellent—she relaxes and sleeps Activity level: Moderate &#239&#184&#143 Eating schedule: Twice daily (morning and evening), wet/dry mix Ideal home: Fenced yard preferred, calm environment, someone home much of the day Topaz’s ideal home would be one where she can enjoy companionship, a predictable routine, and plenty of love. She’s a gentle soul who doesn’t ask for much—just a soft place to land and a person to call her own. If you’re looking for a devoted little companion who will happily share your couch, your heart, and your quiet moments, Topaz may be the perfect match. Topaz’s adoption donation is $500, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio.
