Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Esme — a precious puppy mill momma discovering the joy of being cherished Esme is a sweet puppy mill momma who is finally getting the chance to experience life at her own pace. After a past that didn’t always put her needs first, she’s now learning how wonderful warm blankets, gentle voices, and full tummies can be—and she’s doing a great job. This calm little lady has perfected the art of cozy naps and can usually be found snoozing in the warmest spot she can find. Esme loves treats (seriously, treats are her love language!) and has discovered that they pair quite nicely with gentle belly rubs. She does well settling into a crate, rides nicely in the car, and is slowly warming up to spending time outside, even joining the other dogs for short adventures and the occasional happy dash. Esme has a low energy level and enjoys a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. She does best when kept on a consistent routine, with the understanding that there will always be a transition period as she adjusts to a new home. She gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from a calm canine companion to help guide her. As a mill momma, Esme is still learning that human touch is kind and safe. Loud noises can startle her, so a quieter home with a patient, mill-dog-experienced adopter would be ideal. She is comfortable being alone for short periods, making her a good match for someone with a relaxed or part-time schedule. Given time, patience, and lots of love, this deserving momma will continue to blossom into the sweet companion she was always meant to be. If you have a gentle heart, a warm blanket, and a little extra patience, Esme is ready to meet you. Esme’s adoption donation is $475, and she is being fostered in Cleveland area. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Topaz has tested negative for heartworm and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and she has also had a dental cleaningVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  March 8, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Meira! Meira is a little girl with a heart full of love and a remarkable spirit. Despite all she has been through, she has held onto her sweet, affectionate nature and is now ready to begin her next chapter with a family of her own. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her people, Meira may be your perfect match. She absolutely adores cuddles and is happiest curled up beside you, stretched across your lap for belly rubs, or tucked under the covers at bedtime. She truly loves being part of her person’s everyday moments and will gladly make herself your favorite shadow. Meira enjoys daily walks, playful zoomies around the house, sunbathing in a warm spot, and of course, treats. She has a gentle, even-tempered personality with a lovely balance of playful energy and calm affection. She enjoys activity, but she also knows how to settle in and simply enjoy quiet time with the people she loves. She is leash trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands such as sit and come. Because she is very food motivated, continued training is both easy and rewarding. Meira does well with potty habits when kept on a consistent schedule and routine. She sleeps through the night and would be more than happy to claim a cozy spot beside you under the blankets. Meira gets along well with cats, dogs, and respectful children over 8 years old. A fenced yard is not required, and she does not need another dog in the home to thrive. She can be sensitive to loud sounds and does not enjoy being left alone for long stretches, so she would do best with someone who has time to offer companionship, routine, and reassurance. Her ideal home is one where she can enjoy daily walks, lots of affection, and plenty of together time — because Meira is the kind of dog who gives back every bit of love she receives, and then some. Meira’s adoption donation is $550, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella. Meira has tested negative for heartworm, has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and has also had a dental cleaning. Due to Meira's history of neglect, she will require a home with a strong documented veterinary history.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Solene Solene—affectionately known as Jo Jo—is a delightful little girl with a playful spirit and a heart that’s learning more every day how wonderful love can be. After leaving her life as a puppy mill mama behind, she has been blossoming in foster care and discovering just how fun life can be. Jo Jo is equal parts silly and sweet. She absolutely lights up for mealtime, enjoys her “crazy walks,” and has recently discovered the joy of toys, playtime, and soaking up the sunshine during a good nap. Watching her engage with her foster dog friends—whether it’s playful wrestling or simply walking side-by-side—has been a joy, and she clearly takes comfort and confidence from their companionship. While Jo Jo has made wonderful progress, she is still learning to fully trust the world around her. Sudden movements and loud noises can make her a bit unsure, but with patience and reassurance, she continues to come out of her shell. She now seeks out affection, happily joins her people on the couch, and even wants to be part of bedtime—big milestones for a girl with her past. She enjoys walks and does best when she has a canine buddy to guide her, as she’s still getting the hang of leash skills on her own. Jo Jo has a moderate energy level—she’s playful when it’s time to play, but equally content to relax and recharge. She does well with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule and loves earning treats for her success. Like many dogs adjusting to a home environment, she’s still learning how to signal when she needs to go out. Jo Jo is currently on a special diet to support her urinary health, which is expected to continue through early May as a precaution. Her ideal home will be one that embraces both her joyful, playful side and her need for continued patience and understanding. A home with another friendly dog would be especially beneficial as she continues to build confidence and learn from her furry companions. Most of all, Jo Jo is ready for a family who will cherish her, nurture her growth, and return all the love she is so eager to give. She has come so far already—and her best days are still ahead. Solene’s adoption donation is $525, and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home — she has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on her vaccines, including rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella.
