Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Hi there! This is Crouton, a poodle mix, he is about 13 years old and weighs about 13 pounds, he showed up at animal control as a stray, unfortunately, his microchip did not lead to his family, he was very thin and not well.   He is getting to know his foster family but he follows his foster mom around the house and sitting next to her on the couch. He is deaf, but very alert, and watches everything going on around him.  He is not house trained, he needs to wear a belly band, but will do great on walks.  His meds causes him to need to urinate a lot, so it works best to have the use of the belly bands.  He sleeps thru the night, getting all the rest he needs.   He has been diagnosed with IBS, so that means he needs to be on a special diet.  He is on temporary meds until the IBS can be brought under control, it can be controlled with a good diet.   He does have a couple of growths that need to be removed, but the doctor does not think they are anything to worry about, so when that is done and he has gained some weight, he will be ready for adoption.   He does get along with the dogs in the foster home, but he will try to eat food that is not his, so it will be important to keep him separated at meal time.  Crouton is waiting Gainesville, FL for his forever family to take him home Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Sadie   Adoption fee:  $600.00   Update: Sadie had liver shunt surgery at the University of Tennessee Wed., Nov. 19th. We were fortunate that Dr. Karen Tobias performed the surgery. And Sadie did great! She just had her 2 week check up and passed with flying colors. Plus she's up to 8 pounds now! She's full of vinegar and ready for a wonderful, normal life! A devoted family of her own would make this Christmas - her first Christmas - her best! Just remember-Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. We encourage these applicants to look at our seniors who still have a lot of love to give. Seniors for seniors, it's a natural match up!     Sadie is  blur of activity! At 6 months old, this Shiz Tzu/Poodle mix is still learning house manners. She's around 6 pounds now and loves to cuddle, play with other dogs and chew on fingers. Paper too...got a paper shredder here! She's a loving baby and knows no strangers. She tends to come when called so I think she recognizes her name. This little ink spot is just too cute for words!   Sadie was born with a liver shunt. She's scheduled for surgery Nov. 18th at the University of Tennessee vet school. This surgery will be in excess of $4000.00. We will reserve Sadie and waive her fee for anyone who will contribute a major portion or all of her surgical expenses as long as they meet our adoption criteria.    Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. So he needs a new home. He's a loving white poodle boy in his senior years, maybe 8-9 and small at 10-12 pounds.    Benny has a skin condition we are working on. His hair was very thin from flea allergies but is now growing in well. He had 2 cysts that were drained, one on his tail and one behind his ear. The vet thought they might fill up and require draining again.    He is just a delightful little fellow! Loves to follow you around, loves to ride in the car and loves to walk on a leash and gets along well with other dogs. Pllus he's housetrained!    He's checking out his new world in Chattanooga, TN right now but is waiting for another person to call his own.
