Story
OMG! This little dog is sheer delight. Just enough spice to keep things interesting but really, she wants nothing more than to snuggle. All. Day. Long. She's good in the car and on leash. Wee-wee pad trained but very smart and can be house trained in a jiffy. She's scared of big dogs. Otherwise, this girl is a gem in the rough.

Story
Lady Godiva is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Found stray in Sanger, California, this little lady has clearly been through a lot—but despite her past, she remains incredibly sweet and affectionate. True to her Shih Tzu roots, Lady Godiva is a loving companion dog who thrives on human connection. She’s happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up pets and attention, and offering her quiet, devoted presence in return. She can be slightly timid at first, which is completely understandable given her journey, but once she feels safe, she eagerly seeks affection and melts into cuddles. Shih Tzus are known for being gentle, loyal, and people-oriented, and Lady Godiva embodies all of those traits. She would do beautifully in a calm, patient home that’s ready to show her what security and love feel like. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion who just wants to be cherished, Lady Godiva is ready to blossom in her forever home 💕

Story
Meet Ozzy 🐾 Ozzy is a thoughtful, selective pup who is looking for a patient and experienced home where he can thrive. He has a medium energy level and enjoys a balance of playtime, walks, and quiet companionship. Ozzy is dog selective and does best with slow, careful introductions to other dogs. He’s not good with cats, so a cat-free home is necessary. On leash, Ozzy can be reactive and pull, and he can get jumpy at times, but he is good with corrections and responds well to consistent, positive training. With the right guidance, patience, and structure, Ozzy will grow into a loyal, well-mannered companion for someone ready to give him the understanding and stability he needs. 🐶

Story
Meet Gustavo - a sweet, loving little boy! He is good with all people, kids, cats, and most other dogs. Gustavo really loves being around his people, so his forever home should include someone who likes to stay home or is able to take him out on adventures and errands with them. His favorite activities are chewing bones, sitting on laps, and finding small spaces to sit in. He's always looking for new comfy spots, and will get up and plop himself down several times throughout the day. Gustavo also religiously follows his people around the home, wanting to be close. With time and confidence, we expect that he will likely settle into his home and become more comfortable being further apart from his people. He also loves giving face, hand, and toe kisses, and is still learning that people don't like to play with his teeth (it's getting better every day!). He means no harm, but because of this, we'd suggest older kids would be a better fit for him. Though he does get along with many dogs outside of the home, he would do best as an only dog in the home. Gustavo is working on his leash manners, he currently zig zags a little but is starting to pick up how to walk nicely! He's potty trained (though sometimes will excited pee when he sees his people or gets hyped up) and can be left for a couple of hours at of time in a pen or crate. He likes his walks, but doesn't need much more than 30 mins at a time, though he gets bursts of zoomies at home and whizzes round to get his energy out. In between, he'll happily chill or entertain himself with chew or squeaky toys. Apply today to meet this adorable boy. He's a perfect little house or apartment dog, so easy to fall in love with!

Meet Peanut 🥜🐾 Peanut is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe and supported. He prefers a quieter lifestyle with predictable routines and patient people. Peanut can be shy and needs mindful, gentle approaches, especially while he’s getting to know new people. He will need continued socialization with both people and dogs, and does best with slow, controlled dog introductions. Peanut is dog selective, barrier reactive, and leash reactive, so he’s seeking a single-dog home with an adopter who is experienced or willing to work with positive, confidence-building training. Because of his sensitivities, a home with dog-savvy children ages 10 and up would be the best fit. Peanut is not good with cats, so a cat-free home is required. With patience, structure, and plenty of reassurance, Peanut has the potential to blossom into a loyal, deeply bonded companion for the right person who understands his needs and is ready to go at his pace. 🤍

Story
Clooney, with his dashing tuft of grey hair and dapper good looks, came to Milo on 12/15/25 with Julio from the Merced shelter. Julio was adopted and we're now trying to find a permanent home for Clooney. Unlike his jet-setting human namesake, Clooney is an easygoing, low-energy companion who enjoys a calm, relaxed lifestyle and being close to his people. He is an amazing dog. Completely house trained, he doesn't shed, isn't a barker, and is family friendly, affectionate and super sweet. He does well with other dogs, especially small dogs. Sometimes he can be intimidated if a dog is big or alpha. We imagine he'd be good with cats too, but haven't seen him with any. He's a great low-maintenance dog who is very family friendly- an adorable, patient guy who just wants to hang out, watch movies, and chill. We began fostering him on January 4th. He was initially shy and confused by his new digs, but has since warmed up and started showing his big, loving, chill personality . A favorite hobby of his is finding a sunny spot on the ground and taking in the warmth. We wonder if he is part lizard;) If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow fellow to share your life with, Clooney could be the perfect match.
