If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Brandy, and I am a senior Shih Tzu girl who was born 7/31/16, and I weigh 18 pounds. I lived in a home with all of the windows covered all of my life until my dad passed away and my mom couldn’t take care of me anymore. I never felt the sun on my face or felt the grass under my feet. I must have an all-adult home with an adopter familiar with the needs of my breed. I have always lived with other dogs and get along well with everyone.  If you have been waiting for a sweet Shih Tzu, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
HIGHLIGHTS -Requires a confident dog already established in the home. Meet Etna – A Gentle Soul Ready to Bloom Etna is a sweet 4-year-old weighing 20 lbs Shih Tzu with a soft heart and soulful eyes. This lovely girl may be a little shy at first, but underneath her cautious exterior is a friendly pup who just needs time, patience, and the right environment to truly shine. Etna thrives in the company of other dogs and requires a calm, confident canine companion already established in the home. Having a doggy role model helps her feel safe and encourages her to come out of her shell. She gets along well with other dogs, and once she feels secure, her affectionate and gentle nature begins to show. Etna isn’t the kind of dog to dive headfirst into new situations—but with slow introductions and a stable environment, she steadily builds trust. Her ideal home is quiet, loving, and experienced with shy dogs or willing to let her set the pace. If you have a kind heart, a confident pup, and the patience to let Etna blossom in her own time, she just might be your perfect match. Apply to adopt Etna today and help her write her happy ending. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

HIGHLIGHTS: -Requires another confident dog established in home- Meet Scrappy – A Gentle Soul Looking for Trust and Love Scrappy is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu weighing 16.4 pounds, with a tender heart that just needs a little time and patience to shine. He’s a bit skittish around people right now and can be nervous when being picked up, but beneath that caution is a dog who wants to feel safe and loved. In group, Scrappy does wonderfully — he gets along well with other dogs and seems most comfortable when he’s around calm canine friends. With their help (and yours!), he’s learning that people can be kind and gentle. Scrappy would do best in a quiet, patient home with someone who understands shy dogs and can give him the time he needs to build trust. With love and consistency, Scrappy is sure to blossom into a sweet and loyal companion. ---------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
