Cosmo is a sweet and gentle 7-pound Shih Tzu who is looking for a patient home that will give him the time and care he needs to shine. He gets along well with other dogs and may benefit from having another canine companion to help him feel confident and comfortable. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure any existing dogs are a good fit. Cosmo is currently being treated for a corneal ulcer and will need temporary daily eye medication, but with a little extra care, he will continue to thrive. Above all, Cosmo is a loving dog who is just looking for a safe, calm place to rest his head and be part of a caring home. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
