Story
Em is a petite sweet girl at 7.5 pounds. She is very loyal once she feels comfortable and gains a sense of trust. She is skittish and gets nervous easily. But when she is comfortable she is an ideal companion who loves attention and is very low maintenance. Em is young so she has a lot of spunk, but she plays nicely by herself. She has a passive disposition for the most part - as long as she doesn't feel threatened. She is cautious when meeting other dogs, but as long as she doesn't feel threatened she gets along well with other animals. Em enjoys a more quiet home, and would do well with older kids, given her size. She loves to be leash walked, but she does well in a gated yard roaming freely. She needs and likes frequent outings. Em would thrive in a quiet home with older kids or an adult who is seeking a companion. She needs patient introductions to new people and new dogs, but once she is comfortable she adjusts well.

Hi All! I’m new to the area and in need of a little "staycation." Some people call it quarantine, but I prefer to think of it as a luxurious retreat—room service not included. 😎 While I can't mingle with the neighbors or hit the beach just yet, I’m planning to kick back and relax in a foster home. So, what do you think? Could your place be my 5-star getaway while I enjoy my “me time” and prepare for my grand re-entry into the world? Thanks a ton!

Story
Hi… we’re a group of five, and this is our story 🐾 We came from a shelter in Mobile, Alabama, where our future felt uncertain and hope was hard to find. Each day, we didn’t know what would come next, and it was a scary way to live. But everything changed when we were given a second chance and brought to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Here, we’ve been shown what it truly means to feel safe. We’re receiving the medical care we needed, along with so much love and affection. For the first time in a long while, we can finally relax… we can play, wag our tails, and just be dogs again instead of living in fear. That chapter of our lives is behind us now. These days, we’re focused on what’s ahead — learning, growing, and preparing for our next big adventure. Each of us is getting ready to find a forever home where we can share all the love we’ve been holding onto. We may have come from a place of uncertainty, but now we’re full of hope… and we can’t wait to meet the families who will make our happily-ever-afters come true. 💕

Story
Meet Enzo! He is a Shih Tzu who has endured a lifetime of neglect after being rescued from an overcrowded, overrun breeding situation in Tennessee during freezing temperatures. His world was once very small, and he was only ever used—never loved, never shown what it means to be safe in a home. Now that Enzo is in rescue, he’s beginning the slow, brave journey of learning trust. He is fearful and needs a very gentle, patient approach. A calm, quiet home will be essential for him to feel secure and open up at his own pace. Enzo has never been a home dog before, so everything—from household routines to human affection—is new to him. He does well with other dogs, which helps boost his confidence. Enzo is currently scared of the leash, but our trainers are working with him on building confidence and structure. At this time, he does not enjoy being handled yet, but with consistency, patience, and respect for his boundaries, he continues to make progress. Enzo is looking for an experienced, compassionate adopter who understands that healing takes time and that trust is earned, not rushed. With the right home, Enzo has the potential to truly blossom and discover the life he’s always deserved

Story
**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT. YOU MUST LIVE IN BROWARD OR PALM BEACH COUNTIES** The 3 Puppies Story Begins With Mama: Meet Azmira Every great litter has a great mama, and Azmira is exactly that. She came to us as a rescued one-and-a-half-year-old Maltese Yorkie mix, arriving alongside her siblings, all of whom share the same beautiful hypoallergenic lineage with traits of Maltese, Yorkie, and Shih Tzu. Her siblings range from 10 to 18 pounds fully grown, which gives you a wonderful window into what these puppies may become. Azmira is gentle, loving, and devoted. She has poured everything she has into her puppies, and soon it will be her turn to find her own forever home. But first, her babies need theirs. About This Litter: At just five weeks old, Star Anise, Ziva, and Sprout are already showing the world exactly who they are. They are using the pee pad, discovering wet food alongside mama's milk, and navigating each new day with the wide-eyed wonder that only a puppy can pull off. They are healthy, thriving, and ready to begin the process of finding the people who will love them for a lifetime. These are not puppies for someone dipping a toe in. They are for the experienced dog lover, someone who understands that a young puppy is an investment of time, patience, consistency, and joy. Someone who has done this before and knows that every moment spent in those early months pays dividends for years to come. If that is you, read on. With their hypoallergenic heritage across Maltese, Yorkie, and Shih Tzu lines, these puppies are likely to be low to non-shedding companions with soft, beautiful coats that will only become more stunning with care and grooming. Each one carries a distinct personality already beginning to show.  What Adoption Requires Our Promise to These Puppies We are committed to making sure every puppy in this litter grows up healthy, protected, and loved. That means we partner with our adopters through the first months of life, and we ask for a genuine commitment in return. Here is what the journey looks like. JUNE: Week of June 14th, 2026. Second round of vaccines at our vet in Broward County. Adopter brings puppy in. JULY: Week of July 12th, 2026. Third round of vaccines at our vet in Broward County. Adopter brings puppy in. SEP: September or October 2026. Spay or neuter at our vet in Broward County at 6 months of age. Required as part of the adoption agreement. Location requirement: Adopters must reside in Palm Beach or Broward County to ensure they are able to bring their puppy to our vet in Broward County for scheduled vaccine appointments and the spay or neuter procedure. This is a firm part of our adoption commitment and helps us ensure every puppy receives complete, consistent care. Sprout, Male, 5.5 pounds at 9 weeks old: Sprout is the big brother of the litter at a whopping three ounces, and he carries it with a certain swagger. His wavy, curly coat is the kind that grows into something truly gorgeous with regular grooming, and his size suggests he may be the most robust of the three at maturity. Sprout is for someone who loves a dog with personality to spare, a little guy who will be enthusiastic about everything, mornings, walks, snack time, and especially you. This dog's adoption fee is $800 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning (if needed), and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested, please fill out the adoption application. For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page.   *All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so). They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble; our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. * All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting, including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, including full cardiac workups and ophthalmologist visits. All suspicious lumps and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family, and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises. ##2726943##

Story
Niles is a one year old boy- a mix of Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Cocker Spaniel and Lhasa Apso- at least that is our best guess. Sweet and gentle and a little shy at first, once he is comfortable, he lets his puppy sillies out! He is about 18 pounds and probably just about done growing.  Good with other dogs and housebroken and crate trained.  We had to shave him down due to matting and fleas, but with his beautiful ears and big boopy nose, this boy will be gorgeous! We have brought him up to date on his basic medical needs, including a neuter, and he is now ready for adoption!   Applications are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions.  We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.June 19, 2026, 7:09 pm
