Story
Norman is a sweet, gentle, and incredible dog. We rescued him from Tri-County Animal Shelter in Boca Raton in April 2021. He originally arrived at the shelter with his brother from Puerto Rico, but they were separated. Norman is a cuddly companion. He loves to snuggle and often sleeps curled up in the crook of my back. He is well-trained, rarely barks, doesn’t have accidents, or damage anything at home. He’s easygoing and friendly. He struggles with being left home alone. He doesn’t act, no destruction, no messes but he anxiously runs between the front door and the window, waiting and watching for his people to return. Because we live above an underground garage he hears that constantly thinking we are returning. Our dog sitter has told us he settles well when he is with the other dogs. We have tried behavioral and medications but we’re not consistent. He would be great with someone who works from home or is retired or additional pets. My partner is moving and I work full time.

Story
Muchacha is a 13 year old sweet lady, she is spayed and UTD on shots. She loves adults and kids and does well with other dogs. We have not tested her with cats. She is extra snuggly when she hears thunder or fireworks, not a fan. She is housetrained but will use the pad inside if needed.

I came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release after spending my whole life in heartbreaking conditions, used over and over for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. I don’t know what it feels like to be part of a family, and I’ve never even had a leash clipped onto me. The world outside my cage is completely new and sometimes scary. It may take me months to understand that hands can be gentle and homes can be safe, but deep down I’m hoping someone will give me the patience and love I’ve never had. With the right person, I know I can finally learn what it means to be more than a number… to be loved.

The Rescue Crew This special group of pups was saved from a high-kill shelter, where their future was uncertain. They spent some time in a foster home until space became available at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, giving them a safe and loving environment to grow and thrive. These pups are all dog-friendly, happy, and even enjoy the company of cats! They didn’t have a choice in where they ended up, but Big Dog Ranch heard their call for help and stepped in to give them a second chance. Since arriving, they have received all the medical care, love, and attention they need and are well on their way to becoming the perfect pets, ready to bring joy and companionship to their forever families.
