Story
Memaw came from our grandmother. She is a friendly, energetic 9 year old. Ideally, her experienced companion person would be a home-body that stays active with her as she is a velcro-dog. She’ll jog or chase a ball, but doesn’t care for chew toys. Memaw loves warm laps by the TV. Her person would need to patiently set boundaries as she barely knows “sit” & “lay down” & will likely eat things she shouldn’t when unsupervised. So she needs a calm, clean home. She needs more house training because she grew up with a doggy door, but luckily she’s good on leash walks. Though she’s friendly with animals, she’s doesn’t understand boundaries, & may be too much for them. Memaw is currently praise & treat-motivated as she is underweight (14lbs) but should be about 16-18lbs, so extra meals & potty breaks are required till then. She has mild skin allergies, but knows groomers & is mostly calm on car rides. She’s had puppies before, but is now spayed. She has one shorter ear due to an old injury.

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Sadie   Adoption fee:  $600.00   Update: Sadie had liver shunt surgery at the University of Tennessee Wed., Nov. 19th. We were fortunate that Dr. Karen Tobias performed the surgery. And Sadie did great! She just had her 2 week check up and passed with flying colors. Plus she's up to 8 pounds now! She's full of vinegar and ready for a wonderful, normal life! A devoted family of her own would make this Christmas - her first Christmas - her best! Just remember-Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. We encourage these applicants to look at our seniors who still have a lot of love to give. Seniors for seniors, it's a natural match up!     Sadie is  blur of activity. It is recommended that there be another small dog in the home for Sadie to play with. At 6 months old, this Shiz Tzu/Poodle mix is still learning house manners. She's around 6 pounds now and loves to cuddle, play with other dogs and chew on fingers. Paper too...got a paper shredder here! She's a loving baby and knows no strangers. She tends to come when called so I think she recognizes her name. This little ink spot is just too cute for words!   Sadie was born with a liver shunt. She's scheduled for surgery Nov. 18th at the University of Tennessee vet school. This surgery will be in excess of $4000.00. We will reserve Sadie and waive her fee for anyone who will contribute a major portion or all of her surgical expenses as long as they meet our adoption criteria.    Because Sadie is so young, we must invoke our Seniors for Seniors policy: applicants 70 and older will not be considered for dogs 7 and under. We encourage these applicants to look at our seniors who still have a lot of love to give. Seniors for seniors, it's a natural match up!    Adoption fee: $600.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. Story
A fosters-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Baby Bruno! Bruno may be small, but he’s got a big personality—and a little spice to go with it! This clever, loyal pup is full of love once he feels safe with you. At first, he can be nervous around new people and situations, but with patience (and maybe a little cheese), his sweet and affectionate side shines through. Because Bruno can become nippy if startled or rushed, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands “spicy” dogs and is willing to respect his boundaries. A calm, low-traffic home without children will be the best fit for him. The good news? Bruno has plenty of great qualities to offer his perfect person! He’s housetrained, crate-trained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. A fenced yard is required. While he can walk on a leash, he becomes very reactive to strangers. To help set him up for success, Bruno’s adoption will include a couple of meet-and-greets and a home visit. He isn’t a dog for everyone—but for the right person, he’ll be a devoted and wonderful companion. Baby Bruno weighs 13lbs. and is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 03/22/2021). Baby Bruno has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Baby Bruno's adoption fee is $85. If you want more information about Baby Bruno, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Meet this adorable Shih Tzu mix—your new best friend in a fluffy 16‑pound package! At just 2 years old, he’s a puppy at heart with the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet companionship. This little guy is fantastic with kids, cats, and other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for just about any home. He’s great on a leash, eager to please, and always excited to greet you with a big waggy tail and happy energy. When playtime is over, you’ll likely find him burrowed under a blanket, soaking up the cozy life. His cute floppy ears and beautifully growing coat only add to his irresistible charm. Affectionate, friendly, and full of love, he’s the kind of dog who will steal your heart the moment you meet him. Story
Farley is a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix . He came to us matted, terrified, and confused. Farley loves walks, he loves food, and he enjoys being close to his people. He’s slowly learning how to play and that he is safe and loved. Farley is crate trained, rocking potty training, does great on a leash, and is very treat motivated. Farley would do best in a home with older children and no men and an active family who would walk him daily. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies!
