Story
A SUPER SWEET & HAPPY GUY: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi, my name is Banks! I joined the Mostly Mutts family when they rescued me from animal control. I have loved the great care I’ve received from the shelter volunteers and have even spent time in a temporary foster home recently, where I showed what a great family member I can be. I came to MM in need of a good dental cleaning which I received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts and I liked them. When at the park with my temp. foster, I did not bark at the dogs I saw from afar, instead I pulled closer to them as if I wanted to say ‘hello!’. So, if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / I was respectfully curious with the older cat in my temp. foster home the first time we met. The second time, I may have gotten too close for a sniff and chased him when he ran. My temp. foster feels I would likely do well in a home with a dog-friendly kitty, with possibly some initial redirection during introductions. / I liked the kids in my temp. foster home (age 4 and 6). I was calm around them and let them pet me, so children in my new home may be nice, but best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. And, of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’ve showed off my sweet and calm nature for all the shelter volunteers, who agree that I am a snuggly and adorable guy! In my temp. foster home, I was also sweet, loving and gentle and I enjoyed following my foster around a lot and just wanting to be where they were. / My energy level is 3-5 with little bursts of happy play. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a pretty smart fellow, and know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands. I bet you can teach me even more! I also ride well in the car, so – let’s go! / My crate manners have been good at the shelter, and I also did well in my short break foster home when they needed to crate me there on a couple of occasions (for 2 and 4 hours, respectively). / My potty habits have been good at the shelter, and I only had two tinkle accidents while in my short break foster home for four days. They took me out on a good schedule (about every 2 hours during the day). I did go right away when they took me out, but I didn’t signal that I needed to go out, so keep me on a nice frequent schedule and I think I should do well. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I pretty much just want to snuggle and be petted a lot. I’m also a huge fan of those great belly rubs. While chilling with my people, I like to sleep on pillows and snuggle next to you. I really enjoy walks at the park, and I can walk a mile, so let’s make time for some great strolls together. / I didn’t like when my foster mom told me ‘no’ for jumping on the table and snagging some goodies. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a dental cleaning, and a few teeth pulled, so my mouth is fresh again! I am looking for a loving home with a great, furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
