Rocket is a 2 year old Shihtzu mix who came to us from a hoarding case up in Michigan.  We took five of these guys at the same time and two of them posted positive for heartworm disease. Unfortunately Rocket was one of them.  After speaking with our vet we don’t see any reason why he can’t move to a foster to adopt home while he undergoes treatment at our vet clinic. It’s about a 4-5 month process which will require a couple of vet visits and medication at home.  For this reason he needs to stay local to Plymouth.  Rocket is extremely dog friendly. He gets along with the entire crew. He does well with cats but chases them to play. So a tolerant cat is needed.   He’s also working on house training.  He was kept in a shed so he is still learning where appropriate potty locations are. He’s done well here if I sit outside with him and make sure he goes before we come inside.  Honestly he’s the entire package and will make a family very happy.  If you are interested in fostering to adopt him please apply.   Www.trackingintheshadows.com  ##2735166##

Binnie is a seven year-old Shih Tzu mix who came to the rescue from a hoarding situation in Michigan.   He did test positive for heartworm disease. After speaking with our vet we don’t see any reason why he can’t move to a foster to adopt home while he undergoes treatment at our vet clinic. Squeaker is a 1.5 year old mixed breed.  Squeaker is a quick learner with a the goal to be your friend. He's working on some seperation anxiety, but this is to be expected if he's not around other dogs. We suspect with some "positive influence" with some training or dog friends at home that he won't be as upset while you're at work.   He's making friends with the foster cats. He wants to follow them around and play but he's learning when to back off when his cat friend says "not in the mood, dude!" He's quickly learned "sit"and is learning "stay" and "come here" and walks nicely on a leash. He's a nervous around bigger dogs but loves to play with dogs his own size. He's mostly potty trained and just needs to be watched in the house as he likes to chug lots of water after playing hard outside. He also loves morning walks as it helps him settle in for the day before foster mom and dad go to work. After work, fetch is a favorite game. He loves having some toys to chew on and lick to relax after playing hard outside. He does have a grade two heart murmur, but many dogs live a long and normal life even with one so it might not ever be a problem. He's a grade A cutie with a lot of potential to be the perfect pup!"   Squeaker's adoption fee is $200. He is almost fully vetted for one year, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. He does need a booster in two weeks.  Once approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet. Approved adopters should be ready to take him home within 1–3 days of application approval. We do not accept electric or underground fences. All dogs and cats in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on core vaccines and preventatives. He is very sweet, happy but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. His birth date is 06/14/25 and  he currently weighs 11.6#.This guy is house trained. He does have a leg abnormality that his radius and ulna have grown at different lengths and he walks oddly. However, this does not hinder him.
