Hi! My name is Nika. I am a 12 year old female Shih Tzu. I was recently surrendered to a shelter by no fault of my own. The shelter helped to get me healthy with a dental and a mastectomy. I am having one of my eyes removed soon, but that won't slow me down! I would like to have a doggie playmate and a fenced yard. I am deaf and it helps me having a buddy around and the fence will keep me safe. My foster Mom says I am adorable and such a sweet pup. I would have to agree with her, I am great! I am having so much fun with my foster siblings. Young kids probably aren't a good fit for me, since I am easily startled being deaf.If you are looking for another member of your family, please fill out an application for ME! I can't wait to find my furever home.All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Meet Ruby!Ruby is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix with a playful spirit and a delightfully quirky personality. She’s full of charm and keeps life fun with her corky antics and happy energy.Ruby loves playing fetch, playing with toys and loves her treats! She just started enjoying curling up on the couch to relax with her people as well. She truly shines when she’s with her foster siblings and does great with them and the foster cat, making her a wonderful companion for a multi-pet household.This sweet girl is potty trained and crate trained, which means she’s ready to settle into her new forever home. Ruby would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard (she loves it outside, roaming around taking in all the sniffs) and another dog to play with. If children are in the home Ruby requires them to be 12 years old or older because of her stubborn demeanor.Ruby is a smart, opinionated pup who knows what she likes – and isn’t shy about communicating it. When Ruby feels pressured or forced to do something she is uncomfortable with (like being moved or handled unexpectedly), she may give a quick nip as a way of saying “no thanks”. Ruby will require the right environment with a family who appreciates her personality, who understands her personal boundaries, that uses positive, choice-based handling. With respect and patience, Ruby is affectionate and wonderful companion.This little girl does have a health condition that will require annual bloodwork and possible medication in the future.
