Oreo Pie got his name because he’s truly sweet as pie. Before being rescued, this little guy was abandoned in a backyard, tied to a tree, and survived thanks to kind neighbors who fed him for a month. When his foster mama saved him, he was severely matted and had to be shaved down to the skin. Since then, he’s learned what it feels like to be safe, loved, and comfortable—and now he happily snores the day away in his doggie bed. Oreo Pie hasn’t met a person he doesn’t adore and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and an easy-going, laid-back little man who LOVES food. If he’s hungry (or thinks you’re moving too slow), he’ll let you know—and may even bring you his food bowl as a reminder! Angel is a female Shih Tzu, appx 4.5 years old (born March 2021). Angel is looking for a loving forever home where she is able to snuggle up on the couch under a blanket with her owner and get a little exercise on some walks. She is doing well at her foster home. Angel gets along great with kids. She would love to have a canine buddy in the home. Angel is playful girl. She loves chasing toys and wrestling. She loves all people and did great with lots of people around at Thanksgiving! Angel would do best in a home if someone is home most of the time because she has a little separation anxiety. Angel is mostly potty trained and is used to going outside every two hours for a potty break. Otherwise, she will go on her potty pad. Before living at her current foster home, she only used potty pads and never went outside so she has made lots of progress. She sleeps all night without needing to go out. Angel will need time to transition when she moves to a new home and it will be wise to at least start with a potty pad for her. As she feels more secure, she will probably adjust to going outside with regular potty breaks. The suggested adoption donation for Angel is $475, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Sophie and Ashlynn are a bonded pair of adorable, senior Shih Tzus who are ready to fill your home with quiet loyalty, gentle affection, and plenty of snuggle time. Sophie is a quiet little lady who prefers to stay close by your side. She isn't a big cuddler, but she will loyally follow you from room to room and nap nearby on a pillow while you relax or watch tv. She is very inquisitive and has a little anxiety which keeps her moving around, especially when her foster mom is out of sight. Due to her anxiety, Sophie does take a daily medication to manage it. Additionally, she does have some allergies and takes benadryl for that. Ashlynn (or Ashie for short) is the cuddlebug of the pair. She loves being held like a baby or snuggled up in your lap - maybe even on your pillow at night! She's a deep sleeper and loves a good nap, especially if it's near her favorite person. Like Sophie, Ashlynn would like to be wherever you are and wants to be the center of your world. Ashie is a bit more of a diva; while she gets along with other dogs, she doesn't like when they get in her face or between her and her cuddle time with their foster mom. Both girls currently live with other dogs, but their hearts truly belong to their human. They will require a home with a fenced in yard and have not yet been cat tested. They're content lounging around together, following you throughout the house, or enjoying a quiet evening by your side.
