Story
Meet Sunny — A Joyful, Playful Little Ray of Light  Sunny is a young Shih Tzu/Havanese mix  with a bright spirit, a big heart, and an endless love for playtime. He came from a tough situation, and his current family stepped up to give him safety, stability, and a chance to thrive. They adore him, but their older dog is becoming stressed by Sunny’s playful energy, and with a recent move and financial strain, they want to make sure Sunny gets the time, attention, and love he truly deserves. What Makes Sunny Special Dog Friendly — Loves other dogs, especially those who enjoy active, energetic play. Kid Friendly — Wonderful with children of all ages. Crate Trained — Settles well and feels secure in his kennel. Knows Commands — He already knows sit and touch and is eager to learn more. Playful & Active — Loves tugofwar, fetch, chew toys, and outdoor adventures. Affectionate — A total kisser, cuddler, and peoplelover. Smart & Trainable — With consistency, he’ll blossom into an incredible companion. He chases cats, so a catfree home is best. His Perfect Home  A fenced yard for safe zoomies and outdoor fun A young, playful dog or a family ready to give him lots of activity Someone who enjoys training, playtime, and cuddles A loving, patient home that sees his potential and wants to help him shine He has no special medical needs — just a big heart and a lot of energy to share.   The suggested adoption donation for __Sunny___ is $_415__, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for theirpet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. ##2772453##

Story
Charlie is a senior Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix, born in 2011.  He needs a new home only because his owner has health issues and it's difficult to care for Charlie.  He's looking for someone who will be home most of the time and not leave him for long hours to be kenneled.  Charlie is not on any medications and has no health issues at this time.  He doesn't see or hear as well anymore, but he is otherwise healthy. - The PERFECT Home -   Someone who is home most of the time Prefers a quiet environment Okay with visitors, but enjoys the peace and quiet again when they leave A female and perhaps an older woman (we're not discriminating - that's just what he's used to) Needs regular potty breaks (has started going outside more frequently) Regular grooming - TRAINING - Leash trained House trained - will let you know when he needs to go out usually by barking or whining He is used to going out the back door to do his 'business' and then enjoys the fresh air Crate trained - sleeps there at night and when his person leaves the house, he might even go in middle of the day for a nap Knows a few words - outside, bedtime, mailman, go for a ride - PERSONALITY - Friendly with strangers, maybe a little shy at first Usually calm Enjoys napping Enjoys spending time outside when it's nice (just put a blanket on the patio for him) We're not sure how he would do around other dogs, cats or young kids, but he's been okay with family and friends coming into his house.  He's curious about who is coming in, but we hold his leash as a precaution when people are at the front door. Help us find a Charlie his next senior living home!  Apply today if you would like to meet him. The suggested adoption donation for Charlie is $250, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
