Meet Bodie – Your New Best Friend in an 8-Pound Package! If you're looking for a happy little shadow who will fill your home with laughter, cuddles, and puppy antics, then Bodie may just be the perfect match. This adorable 6-month-old Shih Tzu weighs just 8 pounds, but his personality is absolutely larger than life! Bodie is one of those puppies who believes every day is an adventure and every person is a potential best friend. His favorite place in the world is wherever his people happen to be. Whether you're making dinner, working from home, watching TV, or heading out for a walk, Bodie is ready to tag along with his wagging tail and joyful spirit. When playtime is over, this little cuddle bug is happiest snuggled beside you, soaking up all the love and attention he can get.Bodie has already learned some wonderful habits for such a young puppy. He is crate trained and will happily use pee pads, but he also enjoys going outside to do his business. He's doing great with his leash manners and absolutely loves going for walks, where he can explore the world one tiny paw at a time.Like any six-month-old puppy, Bodie is full of energy and curiosity. He loves to zoom around the yard, chase toys, and play with his canine friends. A securely fenced yard would be a dream come true, giving him plenty of room to run, stretch his little legs, and burn off that playful puppy energy. He would also enjoy having another friendly dog close to his size to romp and wrestle with. While he likes other dogs, larger dogs can sometimes intimidate him because they tend to play a little too rough for his liking.Bodie was raised in a home with three children and enjoys being part of a busy family. Because he's still very much a puppy, he sometimes gets so excited that he'll jump up to say hello. With gentle guidance and continued training, he'll quickly learn that four paws on the floor earn the most attention. His ideal family will understand that puppies need time, patience, and consistency as they grow. Bodie would especially love a home where someone is around most of the day. He thrives on companionship and loves being included in everyday life. He's not the kind of pup who wants to spend long hours alone—he wants to be your little sidekick through it all.Bodie has a wonderful way of making ordinary days feel brighter. His goofy puppy antics will keep you smiling, his sweet cuddles will melt your heart, and his loving nature will remind you every day why dogs truly are our best friends. If you're ready to welcome this happy, affectionate little guy into your family, Bodie is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of puppy kisses. To learn more about Bodie or to apply for adoption, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 21, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Gigi! I’m a beautiful white-and-fawn wirehaired terrier, 5 years old and weighing 20 lbs. I’m a sweet girl who gets along with everyone. I’m currently being fostered with several small dogs, a couple of big ones, and some resident cats—we all get along great!   I love to run and play with everyone—we always have the best time together! A fenced yard is a must for me because I truly enjoy being outside. As an active young lady, I’d thrive in a fun, energetic family, especially with a doggie companion to share adventures.   I’m also a smart girl who learns quickly and would enjoy the challenge of picking up new tricks. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join your family, look no further!   To learn more about Gigi and adopting her, please email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311.  Approved application and adoption fee required.July 21, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Meet River Gucci, a charming 3 year old Shih Tzu male that recently had been living with a disabled man who had no car and very limited funds that did not include grooming dollars nor really food and vetting for this sweet boy.  His owner loved him and realized that River Gucci deserved a more stable and financially secure home to care for him.  We have found this perfect little guy to be a totally perfect boy that loves to be held like a baby and falls asleep in your arms as you rub his tummy.  Charming is a wonderfully accurate and descriptive word to describe River Gucci.  At just 11 lbs this Shih Tzu boy was handed over to Critter Cavalry with mats and a need for a total grooming shave down. In no time he will be a long haired luxurious gentleman that will prance and dance his way into everyone's heart.  He is resilient and pretty much housebroken and delights in being around his foster mom and all her little dogs.  He is not afraid of large dogs either.  What a brave and secure little guy he is!  Personality & Traits:  - Temperament: Sweet, calm, and very affectionate]  - Socialization: Gets along well with other dogs and enjoys the company of people]  - Energy Level: Low to moderate; enjoys short walks and plenty of lap time]  - Training: is under evaluation. Appears House-trained. Leash and basic commands not yet evaluated.Ideal Home:River Gucci would thrive in a home where he can receive plenty of attention and cozy spots to nap. He has perfect manners when meeting new humans and dogs.  He’s looking for a family that understands the grooming needs of a Shih Tzu and is committed to keeping him healthy and happy.  Ideally, he’ll have a playmate in the home or neighborhood. If you are interested in learning more about River Gucci please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com      PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 21, 2026, 5:22 pm

Story
Check out this patriotic little guy!   Meet Baxter! If you're searching for a loving new family member, your search ends here. Baxter is a 12-pound, 2-3-year-old Malti Tzu (a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix), and he embodies all the best, sweetest traits of both breeds.  Ater a few days in his foster home, Baxter found his voice.  Yes he has that Maltese trait.  For this reason, Baxter is not suited to apartment life.   Baxter was found as a stray in Nashville after someone suspected he’d been hit by a car and brought him to the emergency vet. Thankfully, there were no broken bones>  He has now totally healed from a sore back leg. (Hih had X-rays when he was neutered.  Everything now looks good.) We wish Baxter could tell us what happened and how he ended up on his own—it’s hard to imagine any family not wanting such a sweet boy.   Baxter is both a people-lover and a dog’s dog! He loves to play and would thrive with a young, active canine companion in his forever home. He adores people and always wants to be by your side—be prepared to never be alone again! His leg never slowed him down; he still jumps on the furniture to be with his foster mom whenever steps are available.   This young gentleman walks well on a leash and is fully housebroken. He loves going on adventures and rides like a champ in the car—he even prefers the back seat, though he’s happy on a passenger’s lap, too! Baxter is the perfect companion for trips to the park or visits to dog-friendly restaurants and shops.  Baxter can entertain himself but must have a doggie companion in his forever home.  There is lots of energy to burn by playing.   To learn more about bringing Baxter into your family or to request an adoption application, please email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311. Don’t wait—this sweet boy won’t be available for long!  July 21, 2026, 5:22 pm
