Story
Meet Sadie-A 14-year-old Shih Tzu who recently came into care and, despite a rough beginning, is ready to embrace the next chapter of her life. This gentle senior girl is looking for a loving and patient forever home where she can spend her remaining years surrounded by comfort, care, and affection. Sadie has a calm and affectionate nature, and she thrives in a quiet, nurturing environment. While she may take a little time to adjust to new surroundings, once she feels safe, she blossoms into a devoted companion who enjoys gentle attention and companionship. Age has only made her sweeter and more appreciative of the simple joys-cozy laps, soft beds, and quiet moments with her people. She is ready to share her love and loyalty with someone willing to pamper her and give her the warmth and care she deserves. Sadie's next home should be one where her golden years are filled with happiness, comfort, and the kind of attention that makes her feel truly cherished.Does Sadie sound like the match for you? Story
REDUCED Adoption fees for seniors 62+ From traumatic circumstances to a new forever…. It’s time. Precious 11 year old Bear and her 9 year daughter Honey Bun (affectionately called Bun -Bun) are ready for a new slate…a new family…and a new happily “ever after”. These sweet souls tragically and suddenly lost their person weeks ago. I cringe to think what they witnessed but will not dwell on those events. We have all heard their story. Instead we will focus on their new journey to an exceptionally loving family complete with an ever ready warm lap to snuggle upon. They are both very insistent on this as well demanding that their new person has room under the covers right next to them during the night. They both crave love and affection and will follow their person from room to room. I believe they are just a bit afraid of loosing another person and that it would crush their tender hearts. They are happy girls and very bonded. They find comfort with each. Bear and Bun Bun happily greet you with happy tails and wiggly bodies. They will both shower you (and any willing participant) with endless kisses as if you were their long lost friend. Their love is literally boundless. Both girls love car rides and just about any little adventure. They are always ready for a little walk or hike and even a nightly story time. They grew up with kitties and enjoy their company. Bear and Bun Bun would likely prefer to be the center of someone’s world. They are an instant “little family” and they have more than enough love to share with reckless abandon with their future family. Both girls know their names and politely sit, stay and come when requested. Medically they are 100%. Our vet was quite impressed…absolutely no mobility issues, excellent teeth and senior blood profile was exemplary. They are ready. Applications are now being accepted at: https://pettailsrescue.org/applications (Please note that our website is not currently loading specific dog applications but please just complete the application that loads in link). We are ALL very excited to begin this journey finding these special girls a very special home. ❤️❤️❤️ All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date with all age appropriate vaccinations, HW tested, microchipped and have received an exam and NH health certificate from our veterinarian. To be considered, applications MUST be submitted from our website at www.pettailsrescue.org. Please note it may take a couple of days for us to respond and we only respond to applications that are fully completed.

Story
Special Adopter Needed – Gentle, Sweet Soul with a Hard Past Fozzie is a 1 y/o, 18 lb. ShihTzu-Maltese mix who was abandoned in a rural area. He was rescued and sent to a foster home where we learned that he may have endured some abuse in his short life. This beautiful boy desperately wants to be near his human companions and will follow you around, eager to snuggle up next to you on the couch. Very affectionate and playful, he greets everyone he meets with joy (even the vet and groomer!), and loves his belly rubs and chew toys. He is fully house-trained and walks well on a leash. As a result of his prior likely mistreatment, his nervous system is a bit overwhelmed. This shows up in the way he protects himself and his things (toys/treats), and he has the ability to snap/bite if pushed past his comfort zone. *** He needs an experienced adopter who will give him time to settle in, read his body language, and teach him not to fear, but for that right person, he will be the sweetest, most loving little fellow. *** Fozzie will be best set up to succeed in a • A calm, adult-only home  • An experienced, patient adopter who understands fearful dogs • Someone who is home most of the time as he has separation anxiety when left alone • A house, not an apartment (ideally with a fenced-in yard for him to run!) because he howls when left alone With structure, boundaries, and respect, he will be a loyal, loving companion. For the right person, he will be incredibly rewarding. For the wrong situation, he will be overwhelmed and we do not want to set him - or you - up for failure. If you think you may be the right home for Fozzie, please text/call Aly at 732-604-0625. We also have additional photos/videos to share. Thank you for caring about a pet in need! Please NOTE: Fozzie is currently located in the Boston, MA area. The adoption fee listed is in order for the rescue to recoup actual expenses from his vetting, transport, and care.
