The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! We adopted rocky from a pet store a little over a year ago and he is currently 18 months. We love rocky to pieces but unfortunately dont have the time due to our busy work schedules to continue loving him the way he should be. We're looking for a family that can give rocky all the love and attention he deserves as well as possibly a play mate. He is great with other dogs and kids and is an active lil pup that loves to play fetch and the occasional treat for a handful of ticks we've taught him. We prefer someone with experience and not a first time owner but simply want someone that will love him like we do. Rocky is potty trained but requires frequent walks as he is sometimes potty shy. (2-3 times a day). Please reach out with any other questions if need be!

ELEPHANT: Shih Tzu mix, neutered male, approx. 8 years old. notes: If you love Shih Tzus you will want to meet our little Eli. Despite having been neglected by his previous human caretakers, he is now ready for a loving home with responsible caretakers who will take care of him . Eli has dry eyes and will need over the counter drops in his eyes daily. He can get grumpy when people are poking and prodding him, so we recommend an experienced dog owner who would not be deterred if he displays negative behavior. He has so much to offer and just needs the right adopter to give him the opportunity to have a good home.
