He is currently receiving eye an ear rops an is feeling much better, he would love a home with a person who loves this breed and who will care for him so ne never is neglected again. Meet Ralphie. This poor little guy was found tied to a chain-link fence in Hartford, abandoned, absolutely terrified and riddled with fear. He ended up at the Hartford town pound where we pulled him. It took a long time for him to begin to start to come out of his shell. Now he is a happy, happy boy and wagging his tail and playing with toys. He gets along great with all the other dogs and does enjoy interacting with them. He is a snuggle bug as well. Ralph does have one issue with some resource guarding. We have been working on this with him and he’s come a long long way. He now will eat his dinner amongst all the other dogs with their bowls on the floor in the kitchen together. However, he can still become possessive of a special toy or his bed or something you drop on the floor that he happens to grab. Due to this resource guarding, we are saying no small children. But with love and patience and continue training, he’s going to make someone a great companion. Ralphie is approximately two years old, 11 pounds and male. We think he is a Shih Tzu mix. Fisher is a sweet little guy looking for his forever home He's a 1.5 year old shih-tzu mix, 10 lbs and very friendly. He loves being held and cuddling, and is in foster with 3 other dogs that he does great with. He hasn't had any accidents yet and rides well in the car. His is a love bug silly and loves to curl up in your lap. He can be scared of new people and bark at them unless he is comfortable. A lower traffic home without young kids would be great for fisher. Gumbo here. So this is Walter. Named after that cranky old man puppet who looks like he’s been mad since the Carter administration. Accurate? Painfully. Let me be clear: Walter did not wake up one day and choose violence. Walter woke up one day and chose survival. This little dude came out of a hoarding situation with 51 other dogs, which means: • zero personal space • zero dignity • and about zero reason to trust humans who keep saying “it’s fine” while everything is, in fact, not fine And yet look at him. Standing there like: “I’ve seen things. I’ve smelled things. And if you touch my snacks wrong, I will file a complaint.” Same, Walter. Same. He’s not aggressive. He’s not mean. He’s just done with nonsense—and honestly? Respect. Walter doesn’t need chaos. He’s lived it. He needs a quiet home, soft beds, regular meals, and people who understand that old souls don’t do well with foolishness or loud noises or whatever you call children. Story
Oliver, also known as Ollie, is a gorgeous Havanese mix male that is between 6-10 months old. Ollie was found wandering the streets of south Texas when a good Samaritan found him and got him safe. Unfortunately, nobody came forward for him. While adorable, don’t let this boy fool you. He is very energetic and active. He is full of puppy energy. Oliver is the little energizer bunny that doesn’t know when to stop sometimes. If you know active dogs, a bored dog can be a bad dog. Ollie is not a bad dog, but he does need a family that has patience that will work with him on his training and proper exercising/playing. Ollie is a little spazzy. He goes so fast he forgets to look around him and notice what or who he is next to, so sometimes he is known for scaring himself. He is absolutely LOVES snuggles. The foster has said this about him: Quirks? He tilts his head and stares at you when he is trying to get your attention then will launch himself at you with kisses. He constantly needs reassurance. Temperament? Loves and needs to be around people more often than not. Very playful. Crate Trained? Yes, but he does not like the kennel at all. He does not seem to appreciate being out of sight from his humans. Will whine until he calms himself down. House trained? Yes Kids? Ideally older ones who can play with him and give him lots of attention and play time Other dogs? He can be a lot around other dogs that are not as playful, he needs another dog that can guide him and/or match his energy Cats? He has not been cat tested, but he may be a bit too energetic for most cats. He loves his dog bed and enjoys car rides. Ollie needs a loving, adventurous, and patient home that will offer him reassurance, lots of cuddles and the ability to grow into the kind, amazing boy that he truly is. Ollie will be neutered, heart worm tested, current on rabies vaccine, parvo/distemper vaccine, bordatella, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, and microchipped. He will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption.
