Story
ELEPHANT: Shih Tzu mix, neutered male, approx. 8 years old. notes: If you love Shih Tzus you will want to meet our little Eli. Despite having been neglected by his previous human caretakers, he is now ready for a loving home with responsible caretakers who will take care of him . Eli has dry eyes and will need over the counter drops in his eyes daily. He can get grumpy when people are poking and prodding him, so we recommend an experienced dog owner who would not be deterred if he displays negative behavior. He has so much to offer and just needs the right adopter to give him the opportunity to have a good home. For more information, please Call Jennifer: 518-664-3450 CDHA does not adopt to families with children under 5 years of age, people under the age of 21 nor people in transition, e.g., college students. Adopters must live within an hour drive of Albany, NY. The adoption application can be found at: https://cdha.net/pets-for-adoption/adoption-application/. Submitting an application does not commit you to adopt a dog nor does it guarantee you will be approved to adopt.

Story
Meet Ralphie. This poor little guy was found tied to a chain-link fence in Hartford, abandoned, absolutely terrified and riddled with fear. He ended up at the Hartford town pound where we pulled him. It took a long time for him to begin to start to come out of his shell. Now he is a happy, happy boy and wagging his tail and playing with toys. He gets along great with all the other dogs and does enjoy interacting with them. He is a snuggle bug as well. Ralph does have one issue with some resource guarding. We have been working on this with him and he’s come a long long way. He now will eat his dinner amongst all the other dogs with their bowls on the floor in the kitchen together. However, he can still become possessive of a special toy or his bed or something you drop on the floor that he happens to grab. Due to this resource guarding, we are saying no small children. But with love and patience and continue training, he’s going to make someone a great companion. Ralphie is approximately two years old, 11 pounds and male. We think he is a Shih Tzu mix. He is vetted and neutered. Please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home or email pawrescued2016@gmail.com for an application. His adoption fee is $525.

Story
Peter Cottontail is a 13-lb pocket gentleman with main-character energy and zero interest in drama. He’s estimated around 5 years old (birthday TBD because rescue life keeps things mysterious), and he’s possibly a Shih Tzu / wire-haired terrier mix… or maybe a rare woodland sprite who moonlights as a nap consultant. No promises on breed, but we can promise this: Peter is an absolute delight. Take a look at his unique, long-legged cuteness in action here: https://youtu.be/JrF3gcSHGJo He’s fostered in a loving home with a variety pack of dogs, and somehow he’s universally adored. Big, bold dogs? Peter’s unbothered. Small, sassy dogs? Peter’s still unbothered. He’s confident, socially savvy, and gives off “I’ve got this” vibes wherever he goes, whether he’s greeting new friends or simply wandering the yard like he’s inspecting the property lines of his kingdom. Peter is also the kind of dog who makes you wonder why everyone can’t be this easy to love. He’s crate trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and is a total pro for grooming. Car ride? Hop in, your chauffeur awaits. New environment? Noisy and busy place? Peter handles it all with ease. He especially enjoys attention, and will happily wiggle his way into your heart while pretending he’s being cool and casual about it. On leash, he’s responsive and easy to guide, and keeps a great walking pace. With dogs, he’s calm and confident, reads social cues well, and is happy to share affection or treats without getting possessive. He’s not here to start trouble… he’s here to sniff, stroll, and look charming while doing it. Cats? Peter is sweet, curious, and respectful. He did wonderful when introduced to a house cat. He was gently interested, but easily redirected for cuddles or a sniff elsewhere. He’d likely do well with dog-savvy cats, or calm, cat-independent cats who won’t mind a tiny bunny-named roommate politely investigating their existence. Apartment friendly? Yes. Kid friendly? We can’t imagine why not. Peter’s overall vibe is confident and loving, and he’s been wonderfully easy to handle. If you’ve been searching for a small dog who’s equal parts charming houseguest, confident social butterfly, and adorable sidekick… Peter Cottontail is ready to hop straight into your life. Story
Meet Benji Bear — estimated 1 year old, 15.5 pounds, part Shih Tzu, part Havanese, part… gremlin? Honestly, we’re still running the DNA test for “chaotic little man with main-character energy.” Benji is special — and he knows it. He likes what Benji likes… until he doesn’t. His moods shift faster than the wind and he makes no apologies. Looking for a cuddle bug? Yeah, that’s not Benji. Looking for a tiny coworker who will sit next to you, accept respectful head pats, and roll his eyes dramatically while you rant about Carol from accounting? That’s your guy. Benji loads up in the car all by himself and rides like a champ, is great on leash, and absolutely loves to strut his stuff on walks — tiny body, big confidence. We’re pretty sure that once Benji realizes he’s safe and doesn’t have to act like a tough dude, his softer side might peek out. Probably. Maybe. No promises. Benji’s ideal home? -Adults only, or teens who can respect his “don’t kill my vibe” vibe -A family stocked with patience and cheese -A single-dog home, where Benji gets to be the main character, the supporting cast, and the entire emotional storyline — because his feelings (like a teenager’s) are big, dramatic, and subject to change without notice If you’re ready for a quirky, hilarious, independent little fellow who marches to the beat of his own tiny drum, Benji Bear is taking applications. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/690913d68e9aa22a2d0a57c5 If you have any questions or interested in Benji, email his coordinator at Kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye.
