Story
Pepper is a Shih Tzu/Poodle, born September, 2014.  This sweet senior will do best in a home where someone is home with her most of the time, perhaps a person working from home or retired. She is very shy and easily frightened by sudden movements and loud noises; therefore, she will do best with no children in her home.  She enjoys having the companionship of patient dogs her size who can help her learn daily routines, such as going out to potty, eating and playing. She ignores cats. When the weather cooperates, Pepper loves to sit in the sun and will sometimes take long naps outside. She also enjoys finding the sunniest spot in the home where she can nap. This princess prefers resting in a cozy dog bed or on a fluffy blanket, and the kennel is her safe place when the vacuum monster comes around.  She is interested in learning what goes on throughout the house and will follow her foster mom from room to room from a distance. Pepper does not like to have her kennel door closed so her foster mom leaves the door open, when possible. Pepper loves chicken chews and chicken jerky. She has learned very quickly that after her morning bathroom break, it is breakfast time and will sit quietly while watching it being prepared.  She is still learning not to take the food from other dogs. Pepper is not yet fully potty trained, but has come a long way. She knows the word "outside,” watches when the other dogs do their business, sees her foster mom praise them. and then earns that praise for herself.  She gets really excited when she gets praised, too.  After that, she is ready to go inside for the yummy treat that has been earned. Pepper enjoys her bath time.  Although she is nervous at first, the warm water eases her tension, and she enjoys a relaxing massage with the nice smelling shampoo.  She stands completely still and simply enjoys. Pepper is slow to trust and will need a home where she is allowed time to develop that trust. It took three weeks for Pepper to trust enough to take treats from her foster mom’s hand.  Are you the patient person that Pepper needs?  If so, please consider sending us your application to adopt her.  Information is included below.  The suggested adoption fee for Pepper is $265.  Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##1825207##

Story
Henry the Gremlin King (as his humans like to call him) is a young Shih Tzu/Terrier mix (b. 2021).  He gets along with other dogs and cats, also kids of all ages!  He is leash trained and enjoys being active.  He needs a fenced yard so he has a place to wander and explore. Henry also fetches and knows some commands.  In his down time, he would love a lap to sit on.  He would love to be with someone who is home a lot because he's not a big fan of being kenneled.  The perfect home would be with someone who can give him lots of love and attention.  He also would enjoy having a fur sibling around.  Do you have some extra space for Henry the Gremlin King? The suggested adoption donation for Henry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Our senior girls Cutie and Evie, are little but in charge!  This bonded pair, Cutie (blond 12) and Evie (brunette 11) are the best! The girls recently lost their dad and needed a place to land. They have been loved their whole life and it shows. They love everyone and all furry friends. Cutie and Evie are two senior girls that do not act their age. Their fantastic foster family said they are movers and shakers for a little while, then nappers for a long while. Cutie is sweet and loving. She is very happy to snuggle her day away. Evie is sweet and sassy. She lets you know what she wants and when she needs it. They love walks, backyard play and lots of snuggle time. They enjoy all size of dog friends. They currently live with a Doberman, a Shih Tzu and two great kids. They really love kids. However, we do feel children over 5 would be best for them. They are seniors and deserve all the love and attention. Cats, we don’t know, but we think they would be no problem! Cutie and Evie are heathy, UTD on shots and scheduled for dental cleaning in May. We tried to show you their personality in the cute pictures .     Adoption forms available at nebraskanokill.org Suggested adoption donation for the pair:  $175.00 each ($350.00)  May 2, 2024, 7:51 pm
