Story
This sweet dog sees with their heart and has so much love to give! Benji may not see with his eyes, but his other senses are on overdrive! He'll recognize you instantly by the sound of your voice and the unique scent of your hugs. This loving 2 year old Shhtzu mix is the most resilient, heart-filled pup you'll ever meet. He lost his eyes due to an untreated disease. But those days are behind him and now he has had vet treatment and is healthy, neutered and microchipped. From his wagging tail that never stops to his impressive "mapping" skills around the house, Benji is loving his foster siblings and home. His joy is unmatched, and he’ll bring you endless laughter and snuggles. He navigates his world with trust and confidence, reminding everyone around him to live in the moment. Blind dogs adapt quickly to a consistent and loving home. In return, the bond you build is an unbreakable connection built on pure trust. We have placed many blind dogs and are happy to connect you with other families for tips and support. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who will love you unconditionally, Benji is the one for you. Our preference is for a home with a fenced yard and another dog to help Benji learn the ropes. Please email us at c4ptoronto@gmail.com for an application and information.

Story
Bentley is a sweet, gentle soul with a heart full of love. At 15 years young, he was surrendered due to medical needs, but despite his challenges, he remains a joyful and resilient companion. Bentley has a heart murmur, but after a visit to a cardiologist, he was diagnosed with degenerative valvular disease, which requires no treatment — a relief for Bentley and his future family! In addition to his heart, Bentley’s eyes are in need of some care. He is blind in both eyes and struggles with dry eye and cherry eye, but he’s not letting that slow him down. He recently saw an ophthalmologist, and with the right medication, he’s living life to the fullest. Bentley is incredibly patient when it comes to his daily eye treatments, and his future family will need to be comfortable administering them. Bentley is on the lookout for a warm, loving home where he can enjoy slow, peaceful walks and snuggle up in a cozy bed. If you're ready to offer Bentley the care and love he deserves, he’s ready to bring endless affection into your life.

Story
Romeo, Romeo, where art thou, Romeo? If you're searching for a handsome little guy to steal your heart, look no further! Romeo is a neutered male Shih Tzu with a sweet disposition to match his charming name. Romeo has a few health needs that require special care. He has allergies, which are managed with daily medication and a vegetarian diet. Since starting this routine, his skin has greatly improved, and we've even been able to reduce the frequency of his medicated baths. Romeo also has dry eye and will need daily eye drops long-term to keep him comfortable. This sweet boy enjoys walks, making friends with calm dogs, and sharing quality cuddle time. Once he's had his exercise, Romeo's ideal afternoon involves lounging on the couch next to his favorite human. Romeo needs a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time. He requires a muzzle for applying topical medications until a bond of trust is established. With consistent, gentle care, Romeo will flourish into the loving companion he's meant to be. Romeo is looking for a dedicated and peaceful home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by love and comfort. Could that be with you? Romeo has a few health needs that require special care. Due to the number of applications being received for each dog, we are only able to contact the applicants who have met ALL the listed Requirements*** Emma is bonded with Sadie 4804 and they must be adopted together Name/Tag: Emma 4803 Age: 2 Years Sex/Altered: Female / Spayed Weight: 13 lbs (but currently doing well on Doggie Weight Watchers) Breed: Shih Tzu Foster home location: OTTAWA, On Adoption Fee: $750.00 each Temperament: Sweet, affectionate, outgoing, curious Activity/Energy Level: Low to moderate (low in the house, moderate on a walk) Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Yes, with occasional accidents Crate Trained: Unknown Okay with Dogs: Yes Okay with Cats: Unknown (she is respectful in her interactions with the resident Chihuahua so I believe she would be okay with cats or other small animals) Okay with Kids: Yes, kids over 6 years respectful of animals Origin: Owner:  Owner Surrender Requirements:  Securely fenced yard, someone home part of the day, no kids under 6 years   From Emma: Wanted: Castle and Full-time Staff for Adorable Princesses. My mommy got too sick to take care of my sister, Sadie, and me so my family called Loyal who moved us into a temporary castle. I love it here. There is a Chihuahua and a Pitbull  and they’re so cool and the house lady is really fun and makes us good food. Sadie and I love to play ‘keep away’ in my house lady’s big backyard. It’s so funny because we ignore her for a bit, then wait for her to put on her coat and boots and open the back door before we run up the steps. LOL. The house lady has squirrels and rabbits that we love to chase and bark at. I hope my new castle will have woodland creatures! We go for lots of walks so I’ve already lost some weight and I’m feeling better.   From the Foster: I’ve never had easier houseguests. Emma and Sadie are absolute lovebugs who want nothing more than to snuggle with their people and each other (and any other resident critter). Emma’s family reached out to Loyal who readily arranged for her and Sadie to come into care in November. Emma quickly adapted and began to thrive. She and Sadie are energetic and curious adventurers who love their daily walks and exploring the garden. Daily walks and in/outdoor playtime are encouraged to help them on their weight loss journey. Emma is extremely affectionate (no nose or cheek is safe from her kisses!) and her bum constantly wiggles. She is quiet but will bark when Sadie alerts to danger in the form of squirrels or bunnies. Emma constantly looks to Sadie for comfort and guidance so they are searching for a royal family looking to adopt two princesses. They’ve had a few accidents in the house likely because, as I understand it, they were left alone for long stretches of time while their person was in hospital. With regular turnouts, walks, pee pads and positive correction, I anticipate the behaviour will be easy to correct. While their origin story is one of two girls and their loving Queen Mom, highly adaptable and resilient, I believe they would do well in a variety of home situations. Questions? Sadie was surrendered by a senior man who was going for surgery in the hospital. He couldn't take care of her anymore. Sadie had to be shaved down as very matted. She got spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, teeth cleaned, microchipped, and Snap 4dx tested. She is now ready to find a forever home. QUICK FACTS Name: Sandeul Age: 2 years old Gender: Male (Neutered/Spayed) Breed: Papillon Mix Color: Brown & White Weight: 8 kg / 17.6 lb Fully Vaccinated, Microchipped, and Dewormed.   MY RESCUE STORY I was a neglected neighborhood dog who was often tied up in front of a convenience store. One day, a private rescuer noticed me and started taking care of me. Eventually, the rescuer asked us to help find me a forever home.   MY HEALTH I am fully vaccinated.   MY PERSONALITY I’m very focused and I follow people really well. I’m ready to move on from past wounds and live happily with a family. I might mark a little in new places, but I absolutely love playing with toys. I’m considered a Level 2 rescue dog, and I look like a Papillon mix.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly and affectionate, so I don’t just get close to people I know—I also approach strangers and rub my body against them, letting them pet me easily. I haven’t had experience being around children under 13 yet. You can lift me by placing your arms under my belly, and I’m comfortable showing my belly even to someone I’m meeting for the first time. · With Dogs: I’m very social, not only with dogs I already know but also with dogs I meet for the first time. I like to approach them, say hello, and invite them to play. I’m generally more friendly and comfortable with dogs that are similar in size to me. · With Cats: I haven’t had any observed interactions with cats, so I’m not sure how I would react to them   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities, but once I come back inside, I usually settle down and rest calmly. I tend to pull on the leash a bit, but overall, I follow my person well.   TRAINING & HABITS I can be protective of my food around people and other dogs, though during profile photos I’m happy to share treats. I sometimes bark to ask for something I want, and I may bark when I see strangers.   MY IDEAL HOME I would thrive in a home that is patient and loving, where I can get plenty of attention and playtime. A family that enjoys outdoor activities and can provide consistent training would be great. I’d do best with people who understand my occasional marking and are gentle with me, and I can live happily with other dogs. Children under 13 should be introduced slowly since I haven’t had much experience with them.   SPECIAL NOTES As a male, I’m likely to mark in new places. In the past, when being held, I sometimes showed signs of being cautious or defensive, so people would use a blanket to pick me up safely. Over time, I’ve become almost completely comfortable with being touched and held, and recently I’ve never tried to bite or show defensive behavior. Now, I’m fine with anyone petting me, and after a few pets, I’ll even roll onto my back to show my belly. I get along well with other dogs too. The last time I showed any sign of biting was a few months ago when I was eating a bone treat. Someone tried to take the bone to give it to another dog, and I nipped once in response.   Sandeul's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2572768##
