Teddy is a social, friendly 2-yr-old male tan & white Shih Tzu. He enjoys his long walks through the neighbourhood greeting people & dogs alike. He can be frisky & plays with his people, or is content to lie quietly on the grass while they're in the backyard. He rolls over enthusiastically for tummy rubs & pets while lying on the couch beside them in the evening. At night, he sleeps quietly in his pet bed in a quiet area on the floor with his stuffy. Teddy responds to the command for come, sit, & go lie down. He is healthy, vet checked, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed & on flea & tick prevention. BENJI AND FIFI BIOS Benji and Fifi are delightful little dogs who are attached to one another - where he goes, she goes. Benji is a lovely 10 yr. old, neutered male, shih-tzu mix and weighs about 20 lbs. Fifi is a sweet 11 yr. old, spayed female, chihuahua/pug mix and weighs about 20 lbs.  They are a joy to love and live with.   Fifi is fine with handling and loves to be cuddled.  While Benji doesn’t like to be handled much, he does tolerate being picked up when needed. He likes to be petted and will turn over to make sure he gets his belly rubbed. He will lie beside you on the couch.   They both eat well and enjoy a treat each time they come in from being outside. The treats are liver training treats or tiny biscuit bones. They tend to grab at the treats so need to be told “easy” and it works. Feeding with an open hand is best.   Medications – Benji is taking a liver supplement daily, and both dogs are on the flea and tick program which is given once monthly June through November.   Benji and Fifi sleep together on a blanket on the floor in the bedroom. They are early risers but will settle back for a bit longer if asked to.   Benji is good about doing his business outside in the yard, or on walks. Fifi needs to go outside more often as she drinks more. They are let out at least every 2 – 3 hrs. Initially, they had a few accidents but that no longer happens now that they have a good bathroom routine.   They are not left alone very often - an hour at most. They are left in the bedroom to nap and are quiet until they hear us come back in.   Benji and Fifi bark when excited and if someone passes by the house however overall, they are not overly vocal. They are both good at walking on leash and often will sit patiently if their human stops to chat with someone. They usually bark when they see another person or dog. Neither of them has shown any sign of being destructive and haven’t shown any interest in toys.   They are both friendly when approached by strangers coming into the house (after a bit of initial barking). Pearl and Gizmo

Pearl 13 yrs and Gizmo 15 yrs are a bonded pair of Shih tzus who were surrendered when their owner could no longer take care of them.  Don't let their age fool you, because both Pearl and Gizmo, have lots of energy and love to go for walks and run around the backyard, checking everything out.  They sometimes get the zoomies, running around chasing one another and the other pups in the house.   They are very sweet natured pups who love to cuddle with you on the couch or are just as content taking a nap in a soft bed.  They are very friendly with strangers and made friends easily with the other foster and resident pup,  They are easy going pups who just want to be loved and give love.    Currently, Pearl and Gizmo, are eating both wet food and kibble 2 times a day and both enjoy getting treats whenever they can.  Pearl also likes some veggies and fruit while Gizmo is a bit fussier about his snacks.   Both Pearl and Gizmo have been fully vetted since coming to the rescue and have dental surgery scheduled in August.  During their examination, we learned that Pearl has a level 5-6 heart murmur and is on medication twice daily.  She does not show any signs of her condition which is evident when she is walking quickly down the street or running in the backyard.  She will need to stay on this medication for life.   They love to go on walks and strut down the street on a tandem leash in perfect harmony.  They make frequent stops to check out the different smells in the neighbourhood.  All you have to do is show them the leash and they are ready to go.  They lead and the others follow.   Pearl and Gizmo are two of the sweetest fosters I have had in our home and would be an amazing addition to a lucky family.            September 18, 2023, 1:28 pm

Hi there! I'm sweet Gina! 💜I came to the SPCA through no fault of my own 💜 But, I unfortunately can't tell you much about my previous life. After my long journey I am ready to find my forever home now 💜 As you can see.. I'm missing my eye! But, don't think it brings me down! I still am living my life normally! I am a very nervous & shy little lady! I'm adjusting to a world of leash walking and socializing! I need my new home to have a lot of patience for me!
