You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue.Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.orgClick on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. Nettie was pretty shy when she arrived at her foster home. She has gotten much braver. She gets excited and does her dance now when she knows her foster mom is going to pick her up. She does great with the other dogs and is working on her potty training. Nettie does need a fenced yard to keep her safe.  Nettie is about 8 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. Her adoption fee is $250 plus tax of $11.25 for a total of $261.25.  My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 8, 2026, 7:33 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chewy is a very sweet senior gentleman. He lived a lot of years in a commercial breeding kennel and is now getting to learn what being a dog should be all about.  We do not believe Chewy can hear much at all. Chewy’s foster mom would describe him as an easy keeper - he’s happy to hang out and take it easy. Can you give this sweet boy a loving home to retire in? ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe. Chewy would do best in a home with a resident dog to help guide him and show him the ropes. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they generally require extra time to settle in and acclimate. Skills like house training, leash walking, and mastering stairs may require a little extra practice.
