Meet the cutest little guy around! He is a compact ball of love and we call him our "Walmart Greeter". Carson's person died a couple of years ago and he is needing a new home. Carson is a happy little guy who loves everyone and gets along great with other dogs. Carson is playful, housebroken, snuggly, likes to play with toys and would love a family to call his own again. This little guy is part Shih Tzu part.... Bassett?? A short, stocky little man for sure. Don't let those little legs fool you though, he likes to run and play with the big dogs. Carson is housebroken, so the hard work is done for you! He is an adult with a lot of life left! Let him snuggle up to you and you can heal his little heart. If you'd like to adopt Carson, please fill out our online application at www.goofyfootrescue.org Carson is in foster care in West TN and will be transported once his adoption is finalized.

Story
Meet Max Max is a white and cream Shih Tzu with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. He’s a young, spunky puppy who wakes up every day ready to play, explore, and make his people smile. One of Max’s standout talents? Fetch. And not just casual fetch — this guy is a championship-level retriever. Toss the toy and watch him light up as he proudly brings it right back, over and over again. He also does wonderfully off leash, showing impressive focus and responsiveness for such a young dog.Max is affectionate, playful, and eager to please, but like many puppies, he’s still learning how to navigate the world. He does best with gentle guidance and calm corrections. He’s a sensitive soul who responds beautifully when approached with patience, clarity, and kindness — think coaching, not scolding. With the right person or family, Max will thrive into an incredibly loyal and fun companion. If you’re looking for a joyful little dog with energy, heart, and a soft side, Max might just be your perfect match.Young. Playful. Talented. And ready for his forever home.Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Story
Meet Rosa and Chiquita These sweet girls were removed from a home, along with five others, due to poor care. They didn’t get the start they deserved—but that doesn’t mean their story stays that way. Rosa is about 1½ years old and the bigger of the two. She’s a young mama who is learning that safety, consistency, and gentle care can be part of everyday life. Chiquita is around 5 months old and still very much a puppy—curious, impressionable, and ready to learn what it means to be loved.Rosa and Chiquita are not a bonded pair, but they do take comfort in one another as they adjust. With stability and patience, they can continue building confidence and are expected to do well either together or in separate homes. What they need most right now is a foster or adopter willing to offer patience, structure, and kindness. With the right environment, both girls have every chance to become happy, well-adjusted companions. Please consider fostering or adopting—or sharing post to help them find their way home If you’re interested in fostering or adopting, the first step is the application:https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Story
I adopted Oso Bear in California when he was just 10 weeks old back in 2017. He is 9. I adopted him for my other dog who needed a friend. Oso is great with other dogs, he loves dogs. He is a very loving being, requires lots of love in return. He has a spunky personality which has always made us laugh and bring smiles to our day. He does have some separation anxiety, so if you are leaving him alone for more than 8 hours Oso is probably not the dog for you. I am looking for a nice home for him. He deserves someone who loves him like we have. Unfortunately, he and my newborn baby cannot coexist in the same home. He does not feel comfortable in the same house. Some dogs, this just happens and we've tried everything but realize that its for his own good that he finds a new loving home. No adoption fee, just looking for someone to love and take good care of him. Not fixed, but will get him fixed if that is important to you. He is a good boy
