Marley is brand new to BR and came to us with a severely matted coat and needed desperately to be professionally groomed. That happened 4/16/26 and we had him vetted 4/21/26 and he will soon be neutered and have a dental and then should hopefully be ready to go! He is VERY snuggly with his foster mom, seems good with the other dogs and cats in her home, but DOES NOT like to vetted so is one that will at least need a medication "chill protocol" when going to the vet and possibly sedation. We dont know what trauma caused this for him in the past, but we have learned from both the shelter and at our vet that he is not a fan of being vetted and medical procedures done so as long as you know that in advance you can plan in advance. He did do just fine with grooming though! He also is site impaired with one eye with no site and the other minimal. He should hopefully be available after his dental and neuter so stay tuned!April 27, 2026, 11:13 am

Meet the cutest little guy around! He is a compact ball of love and we call him our "Walmart Greeter". Carson's person died a couple of years ago and he is needing a new home. Carson is a happy little guy who loves everyone and gets along great with other dogs. Carson is playful, housebroken, snuggly, likes to play with toys and would love a family to call his own again. This little guy is part Shih Tzu part.... Bassett?? A short, stocky little man for sure. Don't let those little legs fool you though, he likes to run and play with the big dogs. Carson is housebroken, so the hard work is done for you! He is an adult with a lot of life left! Let him snuggle up to you and you can heal his little heart. Poor Ace found himself abandoned and all alone in a rural middle Tennessee community.  He was wandering aimlessly and was picked up by animal control.  There, he spent a couple of weeks in a loud and unclean facility.  He was not even groomed until someone showed interest in adopting him.  This poor matted boy was then shaved super close causing red burns on his skin.  He was then neutered, given all his shots and handed over to his new family. Ace was not properly screened for any behavior issues.  Based on his condition and experience in animal control, we believe that Ace was abused by a man in his former family. His adoptive mom loves him and is doing her best.  , she and her husband are not experienced in these matters and are overwhelmed. Ace is an affectionate dog who loves to snuggle and constantly seeks his mom’s attention. He pushes his way into her lap until she finally gives in, even when trying to work. Eventually, she has to pause work and cuddle with him so he'll stop nudging his head into her chest.   Calming treats and doggie Xanax are helping—he now spends most of the day peacefully sleeping. The calming collar is effective as well; he now rests much more. However, Ace is still snappy and nippy, but only toward her husband, although he did snap at her the other day.  Ace absolutely loves going on walks and will trot happily beside you.  He puts the brakes on when asked to go into the backyard.  (He may have been left outside alone for long periods.) Ace was definitely a 'momma's boy.'  The other night, she fell asleep in the recliner. Ace slept with her all night, curled up on her chest.  The next night, though, he went straight into his crate, settled onto his bed, and fell asleep.  He’s comfortable with both routines.  While she is working from home, he stays close by—snuggling next to her on the sofa or curling up under the recliner on a blanket that hangs off the edge. He doesn’t let her out of his sight.  It’s clear that whoever had him before spoiled him, and we are certain it was a woman. Unfortunately, a man likely mistreated him. Her husband offers treats, which Ace accepts without biting, but if he tries to pet him, Ace doesn’t react well.  Ace is 13 lbs and 3 years old.  The ideal home for him would be a single woman or a couple with experience with mistreated small dogs.  Ace will be an excellent addition to the right home.  He has a lot of love to give in return.  He just needs a patient and loving family who will teach him that nothing bad is ever going to happen again.  Once he trusts you he will be a loyal family member.  Helping an abused dog blossom is more that work the work.   We know you are out there.  To help Ace as a foster or forever family, please text or email Vivienne at 615-943-7311 or vivienneajames@gmail.com.  HELP US HELP ACE!!!  May 8, 2026, 12:45 am

Nyssa (meaning “new beginning”) is a super sweet, energetic, and attentive mystery breed looking for an energetic, playful, experienced new home. ❤️Nyssa was rescued in 2020, and I took her in after my previous partner and I separated in 2025. Unfortunately after a year of trying, the needs of a dog are above my ability to provide. She would thrive with a fenced space and an only dog home. She would do well with continued training on socializing with other dogs too! Nyssa is crate trained, house trained, healthy, and spayed. She is okay with cats, pretty wary of young children, and learning to stay calm around other dogs. She has come a long way and I know she is someone’s perfect dog.
