Meet Trux, a 15-pound, 10-year-old Shih Tzu/Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Trux came to us from another shelter and, while he's faced more than his fair share of challenges, he continues to enjoy the simple pleasures in life—like being outside and taking his time to sniff around the yard. He is deaf and mostly blind, so he thrives in calm environments and appreciates dog friends who respect his space and don’t get too close to his face. He walks nicely on leash and keeps his space tidy, though he may need a little extra help as he settles into a new routine. Medically, Trux does have a few things going on: he has a grade 4 heart murmur and an abdominal mass that we’re monitoring closely. He’s also heartworm positive, but he’s already received his ProHeart-12 injection and is currently undergoing treatment. He’ll need a recheck in six months to make sure everything’s moving in the right direction. Trux may be a senior with some special needs, but he still has so much love to give. He’s looking for a quiet, compassionate home where he can feel safe, cherished, and enjoy his golden years at his own pace. If you believe that love has no age limit and you're ready to open your heart to a truly special pup, Trux is waiting to meet you. Her foster says Missy is PERFECT! She is shy at first, however, she has grown comfy and loves our home. She is gentle. She does not bark, gets along with all of my dogs, is on a routine with feeding, goes to the back door when she needs to use the restroom. She sleeps on a blanket on my bed throughout the night and loves to cuddle. When I come home from work, she stands up and runs to me at the door for pets. She's settling in beautifully and will be the best pet. Whoever adopts this little dog will be the lucky one. Everyone in the house loves her!!!
