Story
Meet Timothy – A Gentle, Loving Companion Seeking a Safe Foster or Forever Home Timothy is a 6-year-old male Shih Tzu with a soft heart and a gentle, affectionate nature. I believe I am his second keeper, and he has been with me for about a year and a half. Timothy is a happy little soul who loves: Daily walks (twice a day is his routine) Car rides Quiet companionship Playing with his stuffed animals — he genuinely loves them and treats them like little friends He is sweet, attentive, and enjoys being close to his person. Timothy does best in a calm, patient environment where kindness and consistency are present. Timothy will come with: Several comfortable beds His harness and leash A collection of outfits His beloved stuffed animals Timothy has experienced some transitions in his life and may have occasional accidents, which respond best to gentle reassurance rather than correction. With love and understanding, he settles beautifully.

Story
Meet Pumpkin & Ginger – Bonded Shih Tzu Sisters Seeking Their Forever Home Pumpkin (black, 9 years old) and Ginger (pewter, 8 years old) are tiny but mighty senior Shih Tzu's, each weighing around 10 lbs. These inseparable sisters are looking for a loving home where they can stay together. We welcomed Pumpkin and Ginger a few months ago after their previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender them. Both girls have chronic skin and ear issues, which are common in Shih Tzu's. Thanks to the great care from our vet and foster family, they’re doing much better—but they’ll need ongoing support to stay comfortable and healthy. Their care routine includes: • Weekly medicated baths (can be done at home). Sometimes 2x a week if there is a flare-up • Regular use of topical medicated sprays/wipes • Occasional ear cleanings • Consistent grooming and haircuts • Special diet/supplements Ginger is fairly cooperative with her care, while Pumpkin has a bit more sass—but both are sweet and affectionate. They both had recent dental work, are spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. They’re great eaters but require a special, chicken-free diet to help manage their skin from the inside out. Their meals include variations of fish-based kibble, peas, carrots, green beans, ground beef, Greek yogurt, omega oil, and probiotics—easy to prepare and not prescription-based. These ladies love (and sometimes demand) the royal treatment: lap time, naps, gentle brushing, sunbathing, short strolls, and lounging on soft beds. They’re mostly housebroken, crate-trained, travel well in the car, show no interest in the resident kitty, get along with other calm dogs, sleep well, and can be trusted alone at home. They will do best in a patient, quiet home with limited stairs, a small fenced yard (both prefer to potty off the leash), and a regular routine. Because of their size and special needs, small children and energetic dogs may not be the best fit in their new home. The cutest thing about them is that they both have an underbite and stick their tongues out. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two loving, low-key companions who thrive on affection and routine, Pumpkin and Ginger would love to meet you. Story
Meet Lorax 🌳 Lorax is a 6–10 month old male Shih Tzu who is ready for his fresh start! He was found as a stray and was heavily matted, but since coming to the shelter he’s been shaved down and is now comfortable, happy, and thriving in foster care. This little guy is excited about everything life has to offer. He loves his dog foster sibling, is obsessed with his toys, and truly enjoys his walks. Lorax has a fun, energetic personality and would do well in just about any small-dog-loving home that’s looking for an active, happy companion. As his coat grows back, Lorax will require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and to prevent future matting. A family committed to routine brushing and professional grooming will help him continue to feel his best. If you’re looking for a joyful, playful little dog who’s ready to take on the world with you, Lorax might be the perfect match! 🐾
