Lexi came to us as a surrender when her family was unable to care for her. Lexi is a loving pup who enjoys being held, going on walks, and having fun chasing her stuffed toys around. She has previously lived with children as young as 3 years old and could do well in a home with respectful kids who understand how to interact with her. We are still learning how Lexi does with other animals and are working on slow, positive introductions to help her feel comfortable.Lexi does well being kenneled while her humans are away and sleeps peacefully in her kennel at night. She is continuing to work on her potty-training and will do best with a family who can provide patience, consistency, and structure as she builds confidence and routine. She is also working on becoming more comfortable with grooming and vet handling, and may need medication prior to these visits to help her feel more comfortable.If you’re looking for a sweet companion who loves affection, walks, and playtime, Lexi may be the perfect addition to your family!Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html) - Our shelter has open visiting hours for cats, however pre-approved application are needed prior to an adoption. Zoey has been through a lot, but you would never know it from her sweet personality. When Zoey's owner was admitted to the ICU and never came home, she was left behind along with several other dogs. Through no fault of her own, her entire world changed overnight. By the time she arrived here, her coat was so severely matted that she had to be shaved down completely. Through the entire grooming process, Zoey never fussed, never complained, and patiently allowed me to help her feel comfortable again. That gentle, trusting nature perfectly sums up who she is. At around 3 years old, Zoey is a sweet Shih Tzu mix who gets along well with other dogs and cats. She has an easygoing personality and seems happy just being part of a family. Her coat may be short right now, but it will grow back. Underneath all those mats was an absolutely adorable little dog who is now ready for a fresh start. Zoey is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much. She just wants a safe home, kind people, and a chance to be loved again. Good fit: someone looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who gets along with other pets and appreciates the simple things in life. Cardamom has already proven she will do anything for the ones she loves. Before coming to rescue, Cardamom was kept outside year-round. During the bitter cold of winter, she gave birth to and raised three puppies outdoors. Somehow, thanks to her incredible devotion and survival instinct, all three puppies made it through. By the time she arrived here, every hair on her body was matted. Her coat was one solid tangle, so she had to be completely shaved to give her a fresh start. Her hair is still short right now, but it will grow back beautifully. At around 3 years old, Cardamom is a sweet Shih Tzu who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She has left her difficult past behind and is ready to enjoy the comfortable life she always deserved.
