Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Minnie is a 1.5-year-old likely Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix with a big personality packed into a petite, spring-loaded body. Seriously—this little lady can jump ! When she’s excited, she pops straight up like a tiny kangaroo, and it’s impossible not to smile. Minnie is friendly with humans of all ages and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. She has a moderate energy level, loves toys, enjoys water (yes, really!), and does great riding in the car. She has basic training under her belt and is eager to keep learning with someone who will guide her gently. She’s still working on full potty training but does use potty pads, so she’s off to a great start. Minnie can be a bit vocal when someone knocks on the door or when she notices exciting things outside—but here’s the impressive part: if you ask her to be quiet, she listens and settles right down. Minnie is a sensitive soul who had a rough start butt the moment she’s shown affection, she gives all of herself in return. She’s playful, a little skittish at times, and incredibly affectionate once she knows she’s safe. Minnie is the kind of dog who will bond deeply with her person and remind you every day how powerful kindness can be. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion with a bouncy spirit and a tender heart, Minnie may be your perfect match. Minnie is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 01/24/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
