Story
Shaggy is a calm, sweet-natured boy with a peaceful presence that makes him a wonderful companion. With a low-energy level, he’s happiest in a quiet, predictable environment where he can relax, feel safe, and enjoy unhurried companionship. Shaggy has been trustworthy with his house manners and appreciates the comforts of home life rather than constant activity. He’ll need an experienced owner who understands that some dogs simply thrive best with patience, routine, and gentle care. Shaggy was found to have low thyroid levels which is likely the cause of his thin coat and dry skin. Now that he is being treated, he is already feeling and looking much better. His adopter will need to continue his care with a daily thyroid pill. For someone seeking a loyal, quiet companion to share calm days and steady affection, Shaggy has so much love to give. ✨ Three Things You Must Know About Shaggy: 1. He needs a calm, adult-only home with an experienced owner. 2. He needs a daily medication for his thyroid to keep him feeling his best. 3. He has superb house manners and is laid back, making him a great companion for a quiet lifestyle. Shaggy is a ShihTzu-Cocker Spaniel mix (our best guess of breeds) who was was born approximately 12-25-15 and weighs 28 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Story
Fawn & Lily are a bonded mother daughter pair, with Fawn at 7 years old and her daughter Lily at 3, and they’ve made it very clear they want to stay together forever. They currently live comfortably with other dogs and cats, though when a cat first enters the room Lily may loudly announce her presence before quickly settling in. Lily can be a little barky and slightly more shy at first, often taking her cues from her confident mom, but within about five minutes, both girls will be curled up in your lap soaking up attention. Both dogs are potty pad trained in the house. Fawn does an excellent job of going outside exclusively, while Lily is still learning and may rely on potty pads more often. In a new home, especially one with carpet, we do expect there may be a few accidents at first until they’re fully settled and trained to the routine. They kennel well when needed and happily share cozy spaces, especially dog beds where they love to snuggle up together. Their affectionate personalities are tough to pass up and they are devoted cuddle bugs who crave human connection. If you stop petting them, expect some gentle finger nibbling as a reminder that the love session isn’t over yet. Fawn and Lily are the kind of dogs who bring double the love into a home, and they’re ready to find a family who will cherish them together.
