Zucchini is a cuddly dog. He does great with kids. Does not so well with our current dogs or cats. He is good with dogs in general just our dog is a dick lol. Zucchini is house trained and knows basic commands. Zucchini does have Addison disease, which just requires a monthly shot and daily pills which are fairly inexpensive. He loves to play with toys and will play fetch all day. He comes with a kennel, dog bed and collar and leash.

Honey is a 8 1/2 year old female Chihuahua. She is a tiny, nervous Queen with a big personality and even bigger boundaries.  She has a past that's left her deeply unsure of humans.  She isn’t ready for cuddles, pets, or even the occasional hand reach, not yet. She’ll need a home that understands love can be quiet, patient, and without physical contact for a long while (maybe forever).Honey Boo Boo would thrive best in a calm environment with no small children.  She currently coexists peacefully with the cats and dogs at her foster home and finds a sense of safety in animal companionship.  While she doesn’t want to be touched, she enjoys being around her trusted furry friends, they help her feel less alone in the world and she hopes her someday adopter might have a resident furry companion to continue showing her there are some really kind humans out there.She must have a fully fenced yard because she cannot be leashed or carried and has zero recall, catching her would be like trying to scoop up moonlight. We know she isn’t your average lap dog, but she doesn’t want to be. She just wants to exist peacefully in a home where she’s allowed to feel safe and accepted exactly as she is. She isn’t broken, she’s just not for everyone. But for someone, she might be everything.  If you're the rare unicorn of a human who doesn’t need affection or to give love, Honey Boo Boo is waiting for you. The adoption fee is $250 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. Jimmy Neutron is a 1 year old, very small, Chihuahua Mix. This little guy came to Town and Country Animal Rescue from a hoarding situation, unsure of what it meant to trust humans. With the patience and kindness of his foster mom, Jimmy is blossoming into a sweet companion who now delights in lap naps, following his person from room to room, and discovering the joy of toys. His new family will need to continue to work with him on meeting new people and showing him that gentle touches and affection are good. Jimmy has already overcome big challenges. While at Town and Country, he received orthopedic surgery to repair his leg and relieve the pain he once felt when walking. Today, he may have a slight limp, but he’s pain-free and full of energy. In fact, his vet recommends he stay active by running, jumping, and playing, which is perfect for this playful pup! His family will need to monitor his other leg to ensure he does not develop the same condition in his other hip joint.  Because Jimmy can be a little mouthy at times, he will do best in a home with older children (6+) who can understand his boundaries and help him continue to thrive. Jimmy Neutron is looking for a forever family who will continue to show him the love and security he deserves. With his curious personality, loyal nature, and zest for life, he’s ready to be someone’s shadow, cuddle buddy, and best friend. ##2565020##

Persephone (aka sfanie) is a little darling.  She is 9 years old and 8 lbs.  Her people could no longer take care of her so she came to our rescue.  She recently had a dental so are teeth are looking good.  She has been fine around other dogs, we are not sure about cats.  We do not think she has had much interaction with kids so maybe no small ones that want man handle a dog.   So far she has shown no sign of wanting to play with toys.  She is a little sad and is looking for a home that will give her lots of loving.  To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first.
