Story
Meet Laurie Laurie is a 2½-year-old Chihuahua/terrier mix with a sweet, fox-like face and a gentle, shy nature. She warms up slowly, but once she trusts you, she becomes a total cuddle bug who loves blankets, lap time, and even offers her little paws for pets. She’s been great with other dogs and did well around a 4-year-old child. Laurie sleeps quietly through the night (bed or crate), rarely barks, eats well, and takes her meds easily. She’s still gaining confidence, so leash walking hasn’t started yet, but she does well with a steady potty routine. Laurie would do well as an only dog or with a friendly companion—she just needs a patient, loving home where she can blossom.   Applications can be filled out at http://www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Story
Prince is a 13-15 year old shih tzu mix.  Found as a stray, this sweet boy faced numerous health hurdles, including severe eye and skin issues, which ultimately led to the loss of one of his eyes. But don't let that fool you-he is thriving now, healthy, happy, and ready to snuggle up with his person under the fluffiest blanket. Though he's blind and deaf, Prince is incredibly loving and affectionate. His perfect day is spent in the company of his favorite humans and animals (he's great with both cats and dogs). His ideal world is all about comfort, cuddles, and a cozy spot to nap. Prince may be a senior pup, but he's still got plenty of love to give. Because of his age, he needs a little extra care throughout the day, with frequent potty breaks to avoid accidents-though he's perfectly content to sleep through the night without any issues. If you're looking for a loyal, low-maintenance companion who just wants to curl up beside you and share his warm, gentle energy, Prince could be the perfect addition to your home!  Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt! The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.
