Story
Rosie is a sweet little 9lb chihuahua mix. She loves people and welcomes all the belly rubs and attention she can get! Rosie does well with older respectful children. Rosie does have a very slight limp, but that doesn't slow her down a bit! She loves to chase squirrels and run around the yard and play. Rosie loves other dogs and her ideal home would have another doggy playmate around her size. Rosie ideal home would have a fenced yard, but not required.. She is house broken, and a steady routine in her new home will help her stay on track. Rosie is a little love bug and always looking to please. She will make a wonderful addition to a loving home! Story
Max is a very lovable dog with a great personality. He is happiest when he is around his people, but he is also ok hanging out by himself or in his crate. He is always happy to see you and he likes to cuddle and be pet for short periods.  He likes to play fetch and keep away for short periods too. He loves long walks and he will do anything for treat!  Max is house broken and happily sleeps in his crate at night. Max would do best in home without small children. He does not really like to be picked up, although he will let you if he trusts you and respect his boundaries. He will tell you when he does not want to be touched, but he has not shown any signs of aggression. Max is an all-around great dog who would make a wonderful companion.  Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
Meet Buddy, your cuddly shadow!  This charming 2-year-old Chihuahua mix is a hidden gem waiting to shine. While he might be a bit shy at first, his shyness melts away once he gets to know you. He'll become your constant companion, following you around the house and showering you with love.  Here's what makes Buddy special: Loyal and loving: Once he trusts you, he'll be your best friend, never wanting to leave your side. Good with other dogs: Whether big or small, Buddy enjoys the company of his canine friends. Leash-trained pro: He walks like a champ on a leash, but remember a harness or martingale collar is best as loud noises can startle him. Snuggle buddy extraordinaire: He loves nothing more than curling up next to you for a good cuddle session. House trained: As with all dogs, he will need to learn your schedule. But he does great in his foster home. If you're looking for a loving, loyal friend who will be your constant companion and cuddle buddy, Buddy might just be your perfect match! Apply to meet him today and discover the love waiting to blossom!   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. Story
This itty-bitty is Evie.  She is just a pleaser!   True to the breed she attachs to her person and wants to be with them all the time.  Her perfect day is curly up on the couch next to her person.  She is potty-trained  and sleeps in a crate all night without complaint.  Evie gets along with other dogs but would be perfectly fine not sharing her person with anyone. She can be leary of men at first but warms up quickly.    Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. Please read ALL of this listing prior to emailing with questions or inquiries. If you are interested in Coco and feel that you would be a good match for her, you MUST FIRST fill out and submit this application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Coco is a tiny 6-lb., 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who is in search of her forever home. She is a timid little girl, but is very loving and affectionate when she feels comfortable in her new environment. We are looking for a new guardian for her who will take her out for walks and new adventures so she can be well socialized... not just a home where she will be home all day long. Being such a small dog, it should be easy taking Coco along on most outings. Coco gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home, but she barks at the big dog. We feel that she will do well in either a single-dog home or with another small dog. Coco's a little 'Velcro dog' and wants to be right next to her person or in their lap... and she loves giving kisses! Coco is housetrained and crate trained, but since she is such a small dog, she has to be let out often. A home with a fenced yard and someone at home during the day will be best for her. We feel it would not be advantageous for her to be in a crate while her family is at work during the day. In her foster home she sleeps in a crate, but we are sure that she would love to snuggle next to her new guardian in their 'big bed'. Coco is a very healthy little girl and is current on her Dist/Parvo and Rabies vaccinations. We also had her spayed, microchipped, and tested for Heartworms. She is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Coco's adoption fee is $400.00 Coco is a loving, sweet, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that you would like to add Coco to your family, please submit an application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

Story
Quick Facts about Pete: Breed: Chihuahua/mix Age: 3 years Size: 25 lbs House-Trained: Yes Pete was surrendered to Catering to Cats and Dogs after his owners realized they did not have time to care for him. Pete loves food… he LOVES food. He is very food motivated, and it shows a little around his midsection. He is currently on weight management food to get his weight in a healthier range. He likes to sleep, go for walks, get belly rubs, and occasionally play with toys, but he also is a big couch potato if you let him. Most of all, he wants to be wherever you are! He has been working on his basic commands in his foster home and will need continued help once in his forever home. Pete is a somewhat hesitant and nervous dog. After getting to know you a little, he warms up, and if you get lucky enough to become his person, he will always be by your side! He does get nervous with loud sounds and sometimes when you put on/take off his harness. He feels safe in his crate and will resort there when he feels nervous. Pete would do best with low to moderate-energy dogs and needs proper introductions to his doggie friends. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Pete is $358 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Hi everyone this is Zeus! He is a 4yr old Miniature Schnauzer/Chihuahua Mix who is neutered. I am needing to rehome him because I moved in with a family member who unfortunately is allergic to dogs. Zeus is a great dog and knows many commands. He is potty and house trained but can be territorial over his food. He is good around kids and other dogs. Story
Sometimes we never know what we will see when we start up our car and leave the safety of our homes and our beloved pets that wait for us to return.  Sometimes what we see on the road is disturbing and downright WRONG.     This pair of Chihuahuas were discovered by one of our faithful rescue fosters as she traveled a back country road that was mostly farmland and very few  houses on the road.  First she say the little white chihuahua in the road and he ran from her and wouldn’t let her catch him.  She tried for a while.  Then she went to the nearest house and talked to a man who was out in his yard about this white Chihuahua.  He told her who owned the land where the dog was seen running and so a few days later she went back determined to ride up and down the road until she could see the dog again.  Well there were TWO little chihuahuas now; white and black and tan.  She found the owners of the land and asked them about the Chis and was told they were dropped off by some unknown person and that they had been up in their barn trying to eat the cow feed. They were abandoned and soon our rescue foster trapped them and brought them home to change their life forever.  We are getting them vetted and neutered and spayed 1/26. WE NEED FOSTER HELP!   The white boy is very shy and the black and tan is a female and the “protector” of her male friend.  Help us give them a short term place to stay while we look for a permanent and forever loving home!  Can you help for a few weeks?  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  They can be fostered in Nashville, TN or even in the New England area.  We transport weekly and just need someone to show them kindness, love and stability.  They will be ever so grateful!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 22, 2024, 1:56 pm

Story
This special girl is called Joni and she is a 2-3 year old Chihuahua girl that weighs 11 pounds and looking for a dream home.  This girl who has been a momma with babies before, was found with what we believe to be one of her puppies, a son named Chachi, who is white and a year old now.     This girl was found  abandoned in a very remote rural area that was nothing but countryside farm land.  The owners of the farm told us that they both showed up and had been there looking for food and shelter for over a week.  Our rescue foster mom couldn’t stand to see them left outside in the cold and with no place to be safely sheltered.  They would not come to her and so she humanely trapped them and took them home.  The rest will be history for both of these Chihuahuas.  Momma Joni is a sweet and confident girl who still takes her protective mothering responsibilities seriously.  She is still mothering and overseeing her son Chachi.  She is housebroken pretty well and crate trained and she does get along with the other small dogs in the foster home…and the cat too!  We have promised Momma Joni that she will never be thrown out and abandoned ever again.   She is ready for a new and loving owner to sweep her away on a little magic carpet to live happily ever after.   Is that you holding the key to her heart and forever future!?  Contact us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 22, 2024, 1:56 pm
