✨Meet Lucy!✨ Lucy is a 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier mix who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. Lucy had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a mill mama her entire life. She is shut down at this time but is slowly starting to give us her trust. We are confident she will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands her past and gives her the time she needs to trust them and her new surroundings. Lucy loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a mill mama, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! **Snickers' and Snowy's adoption fees have been sponsored by a generous donor** **Foster Update** "Snowy is still a bit skittish and barks at new people, but once he knows you he's all about the cuddles!" Meet Snickers and Snowy! Snickers and Snowy are 3 year old small mixed breeds that were saved from the same commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. They were given up because this particular puppy mill has decided to shut down 🥳🥳 These handsome young men, Snowy and Snickers, have lived their whole lives together and are bonded and would love to go to their furever home together. Snickers is a small pup with a huge fun personality, and Snowy is a sweet and quiet boy. They are both learning a lot in their foster home and have come a long way! They are love their other canine foster siblings, are house trained, and have great doggy manners! We are confident that he will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family. They will require a family who understands his past and is patient with him. Our surviving breeder dogs are always extremely special, and we promise you there is no love out there that compares to theirs! We require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY.
