Story
Meet Our Special Trio! 🐾❤️ Gem, Diamond & Peridot These three sweet kittens were found outside our building, looking for safety and a second chance. Despite their rough start, they are happy, playful, affectionate kittens who are ready to find loving homes of their own. All three have tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but don’t let those three letters scare you. FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, happy lives that are often no different from those of FIV-negative cats. They play, cuddle, explore, climb cat trees, chase toys, and love their people just like any other cat. FIV is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds, not through casual contact. Because of this, many FIV-positive cats successfully live with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. They simply need routine veterinary care, a healthy lifestyle, and a family willing to look beyond a diagnosis. These babies don’t know they’re different—and honestly, they aren’t. They’re just kittens looking for love, warm beds, sunny windows, and someone to call their own. If you’re willing to open your heart to an FIV-positive cat, you’ll discover what we already know: these kittens are every bit as deserving, loving, and wonderful as any other cat. ❤️ Playful • Affectionate • Full of Life • Looking for Forever Homes 🐱💕

Story
Tuna is a wonderfully sweet and affectionate kitty- she loves to cuddle with her person, but is also happy to entertain herself or chill with you from across the room. She's a chatty Siamese mix with tons of character and a huge personality. She loves getting pets, chasing after her toys, being carried around like a princess, and being fawned over. She's happily lived with another cat after the getting-to-know-you adjustment period. True to her Siamese heritage, she has opinions and isn't shy about sharing them. Shes a vocal girl who wants to let you know when its time for dinner or playtime. If you love a cat with something to say, she's your girl. She thrives in a home where she can roam freely and be a part of the action, she's happiest when she's not closed off from her people. Tuna's a real catch, best suited for a patient adopter who appreciates a communicative cat. She hasn't lived with dogs or kids before, so she may do best in a calm home. 6 yrs old, healthy, lovable.

Story
Juliette is a sweet senior female cat, approximately 15–17 years old, located in the Alpharetta area. For the past 10 years, she has lived with my mother as the only pet in a quiet home with no children. Unfortunately, due to changing circumstances, that living arrangement is no longer possible. Juliette is an indoor-only cat who is very talkative, affectionate, and enjoys companionship once she becomes comfortable in her environment. She thrives in a calm, low-stress home and would be an excellent companion for someone looking for a relaxed, gentle cat rather than a highly energetic one. She is litter box trained, eats and drinks normally, and is spayed. Her medical records are up to date. Juliette does have thyroid and kidney-related health conditions and is currently underweight, but she still enjoys attention and companionship. I am urgently trying to find a loving home for Juliette, as all the foster, rescues around me are full. Thank you for your time

Story
Meet Mitzey From the moment we met Mitzey, she had all of our hearts. Mitzey is a Flame Point Siamese mix with blue eyes, beautiful apricot markings and a super soft striped tail. We have no way of knowing if Mitzey is a purebred Siamese but she definitely has the coloring, coat and even the slightly crossed eyes that can be typical of the breed. Mitzey has had a tough time of it. This beautiful kitty was found as a kitten with burned paws. After healing, she was adopted but was returned because she has chronic colitis, which can become acute under stress. Once returned to the safety of our shelter, we worked very hard to help her settle in. Mitzey is on a special food that she eats in the morning and night. With her new diet, Mitzey’s colitis is under control and she enjoys playing and hanging out in our community cat room. This striking beauty loves attention and is such a snuggler. She's actually very hard to photograph because when she sees anyone she just wants to come in for head butts and rubs. She is cat friendly and very sociable. She is ready to find her forever person/family. Mitzey is about a year old. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt Mitzey will have to be patient and mindful of Mitzey’s stress levels. Stress can cause a colitis flare and until she understands she is safe and loved she could feel anxious. Once she is settled in, she will need to keep her special diet at least twice a day to keep her healthy and happy, but any other cats in the home can eat the same food Mitzey eats, making feeding time easier. If looking for an awesome girl, please submit an application for Mitzey online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed, or feel free to email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Bijou is a Siamese mix, lilac point tabby, cream and gray young adult with sparkling blue eyes—just slightly crossed for extra charm. She talks a lot and will gladly tell you all about her day, like any good Siamese mix should. Bijou has been an attentive mom to five kittens and now she’s finally ready for her own quiet, comfortable life. She makes biscuits like a pro and starts up her purr the moment you give her attention. Bijou has noticed other cats in her foster home with a calm, neutral approach, so she may do well in a multi-cat household, though this hasn’t been fully tested. Ready to meet your new best friend? Hi! I'm Billy Bass! I am cuddly and love being held. I like to climb on the cat tree and zip through tunnels when I'm not lounging around on the window seat. I do require a young kitty playmate in the home!
