Story
Meet Mitzey This stunning girl was found as a small kitten with severely burned pads on her paws. She was treated and cared for by a foster, then came into the safety of our shelter. From the moment we met Mitzey, she had all of our hearts. Mitzey is a Flame Point Siamese mix with pale blue eyes, beautiful apricot markings and a super soft striped tail. This striking beauty loves attention and is such a snuggler. She's actually very hard to photograph because when she sees anyone she just wants to come in for head butts and rubs. She is cat friendly and very sociable. She is ready to find her forever person/family. We're estimating her birthday at around June 1, 2025. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. If looking for an awesome girl, please submit an application for Mitzey online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
HOPE — The Cross-Eyed Lovebug & Little Miracle Personality: Affectionate • Ultra-Confident • Gentle • Smart • Purr Machine Hope’s story is nothing short of legendary. She was trapped inside a church, completely ignored by the owners, tiny, scared, and alone. For 48 long hours, we weren’t able to reach her. But with persistence, teamwork, and a whole community turning over every stone imaginable, we finally opened a tiny hole and brought her to safety. And it was worth every second — because out came a tiny baby miracle who has never stopped spreading love and joy. Hope has a slightly cross-eyed gaze that makes her impossible not to adore. Her soft, cirpy little meow is a far cry from the terrified cries she used while trapped, and her stunning eyes follow you everywhere, giving slow blinks of trust and affection. Like all the Little Legends, she is a non-stop purring machine, a bundle of warmth and love wherever she goes. Hope is a cuddle-obsessed, social butterfly. She makes friends instantly, with humans, kittens, and cats alike, and will happily join any cuddle puddle, including laps that already have kittens snuggled in them. She particularly adores Jane, always playing and napping together, sharing warmth and love. She will follow you everywhere, curling up beside you, on your chest, or next to your neck, and she especially loves cozy heated beds like Zoy’s soft pad. Despite being tiny, Hope is fearlessly confident and gentle. She keeps up with playtime effortlessly, wrestling with even the largest kittens who are double her size. She loves kisses — both giving and receiving — and her affectionate head bumps and purrs will melt your heart. She is also super smart, a pro at food puzzles, endlessly curious, and mesmerized by cat TV, which she can watch for hours. Hope even enjoyed her Christmas photoshoot, making friends, purring, and giving head bumps to everyone she met — clearly showing she was born to charm the world. Why She’s a Little Legend Hope survived impossible odds and emerged as a grateful, affectionate, playful, and incredibly smart kitten. She embodies the true spirit of the Little Legends: resilient, loving, joyful, and endlessly entertaining. Her cross-eyed charm, gentle confidence, and unwavering affection make her completely unforgettable. If you’re ready for a kitten who will purr, cuddle, wrestle, give kisses, play smart games, mesmerize you with cat TV, make friends instantly, charm everyone with head bumps, and fill your heart with joy every day, Hope is your miraculous little lovebug. Hope is estimated to be 3 mo old as of Dec 26 2025 and fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. He tested negative for FIV, FeLV and heartworms. Check out more photos and videos of Hope here: Silvia Photo Album Hope is a kitten and must be adopted with one of her siblings, foster friends, or into a home with another young or playful cat for companionship. She really loves his foster sister Dian but he will quickly make friends with any kitty! Here is some information about why we have this policy: Two kittens are better than one For a pair of kittens we apply a $25 discount from each adoption fee. Story
Meet Sephora — The Tiny Supermodel Who Thinks Your House Is Her Beauty Empire With icy crystal-blue eyes and a silky Siamese coat, Sephora doesn’t just enter a room — she arrives. Confident, vocal, and completely convinced the world exists to admire her, Sephora is the heart of every room she walks into. If Maybelline is soft glam, Sephora is full glam — bold, fearless, and born for the spotlight. Sephora is outgoing and endlessly social. She loves everyone she meets and greets new friends like she’s known them forever. Humans, cats, visitors — they’re all fans, whether they know it yet or not. She adores other cats and especially worships her foster dad Chris, whom she follows like a devoted little shadow and curls up with whenever possible. This girl is playful, athletic, and confident. She sprints for the joy of it, climbs like she’s training for an action movie, and treats your home like backstage at Fashion Week. And yes — she walks on a leash and loves it. If there’s an audience, Sephora is ready. But what makes Sephora truly special isn’t just her sparkle — it’s her heart. Behind the sass and star power is a deeply affectionate kitten who thrives on connection. When the show is over, she flops into your lap, presses close, and purrs with total contentment. She loves hard, bonds fast, and brings warmth wherever she goes. Most importantly, Sephora is inseparable from her sister Maybelline. These two are soulmates. They do everything together — explore, play, nap, groom, cuddle with other kittens, and pile up with their favorite adopted dad cat, Chris. Sephora may be the party starter, but Maybelline is her anchor — and Sephora wouldn’t have it any other way. Sephora is bonded with his sister Maybelline and they must be adopted together. Here is some information about why we have this policy: Two kittens are better than one For a pair of kittens we offer a $25 discount for each, from their adoption fee. Check out more photos and videos of Maybelline and Sephora: Maybelline and Sephora Album Sephora is estimated to be about 3 months old as of Dec 2025. Story
Reese was acquired as a young kitten in North Carolina and has been raised in a home environment where he has learned to be comfortable around people and everyday household routines. He is still young (around 2 years) and has plenty of playful energy, curiosity, and affection to give. Reese has a gentle, sweet personality and enjoys attention on his own terms. He’s affectionate, observant, and smart, and he does well in a calm, patient home where he can feel secure and loved. He would thrive with someone who understands cats and is willing to give him time to settle in and bond. I am looking for a stable, loving home where Reese will be a valued part of the family and receive consistent care, attention, and enrichment. His well-being and long-term happiness are the top priority. Adjectives to describe Reese: sweet, curious, affectionate, gentle, playful, and intelligent.

Story
Hi, my name is Gingerbread, and I'm a 1 year old seal point Siamese boy kitty. I was surrendered to the shelter with my best friend, Peppermint, and I really hope we can be adopted together. I am FIV+, which means I need to be an inside kitty, and while I can be around other cats, it's important that we get along. I already get along GREAT with Peppermint, so if you're looking for two kitties, we are a perfect set! I have a deep purr and love to be loved! I am pretty relaxed and chill, with a good-natured manner and a friendly personality. I really miss having a home, so I hope my REAL furever family finds me soon!     The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.    December 12, 2025, 9:07 pm
