- Very handsome guy who will need time to adjust to new home; was very fearful when he arrived in our care and has gradually opened up during his time with us; will be a wonderful friend for someone who can give him the time and patience he needs to become comfortable - Young, noisy or busy children will likely be too much for him, so he's looking for a mature home that's calm and predictable - Please plan on starting him in one room of your home and giving him quite a bit of time (possibly weeks) to become comfortable with that area and with you before allowing him access to larger areas of the home; this process will help set him up for success by not overwhelming himThis cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources.
