Story
Meet Ese (pronounced “easy”), a petite 7-month-old Snowshoe Siamese kitten with a resilient spirit and a gentle heart. She came from a backyard colony of 12 cats, where she was the runt and the eighth to be fixed. After a tough start, Ese is now safe in foster care and getting the second chance she deserves.
Personality:
Ese is a playful, observant, and independent kitten who is still learning to trust. She loves interactive play—especially chasing a feather wand through her tunnel—and has impressive laser pointer skills. One of her favorite things to do after playing is relaxing on her window perch, watching birds and squirrels.
Temperament & Needs:
Because of her early life, Ese is sensitive to touch and can be cautious with handling. Currently, she is not a “pick-up-and-cuddle” kitten and will need an experienced adopter who understands shy cats. She is thriving in her foster home where patience, consistency, and a calm, predictable environment has allowed her to build trust at her own pace.
The Sweet Side:
As she becomes more comfortable, Ese is showing her softer side. She especially enjoys gentle brushing under her chin, is starting to accept affection on her own terms and learning that laps can be warm and safe places to snuggle.
Ideal Home:
* Quiet, low-traffic household
* Experienced cat adopter
* No young children (due to her sensitivity)
* Another confident, friendly cat would be a plus with slow, proper introductions (Jackson Galaxy-style recommended)
Ese may not be an instant lap cat, but for the right person, she offers something incredibly special—the chance to earn her trust and watch her continue to grow into a confident, loving companion.
Ese has been spayed, received rabies vax, fvrcp & booster, combo tested negative, dewormed and flea treatment/prevention and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 (this covers the cost of her medical treatment/care).
Friends of Feral Felines:
A small all-volunteer, donor-funded organization whose mission is to improve the lives of community cats in and around Charlotte, NC. Our focus is TNVR (Trap.Neuter.Vaccinate.Return). Hundreds of kittens, like Ese, are born in backyards everyday with no reprieve from the reproduction cycle (kittens can get pregnant as early as 4 months old). At 5 months of age, Ese was covered in fleas, malnourished, dehydrated and pregnant. Her life story changed the day our volunteer showed up. Please consider following us on social media as our volunteers work to save lives through prevention to alleviate suffering. Volunteers are always welcome, too
