Story

Meet Casper — the handsome, dramatic king of chaos.
Casper is the type of cat who will smack you when you walk by simply because he can, knock your belongings off the table while maintaining unbroken eye contact, and gift you with both physical and emotional scars like you’re part of an exclusive loyalty program. His stare alone will have you fetching treats immediately. Resistance is futile.
Casper operates on his own terms. He won’t follow you around unless you’re holding a Churu… or a grudge. But when he chooses to plop down on your chest, you will absolutely feel the love. Breathing is optional. Just don’t pet his butt — unless you’re hoping to experience The Slap.
This three-year-old walking red flag has come a long way during his year in foster care. He’s gone from “cat from hell” to a guy who actually asks for pets (strictly head-only, please). He now greets visitors at the door like the world’s most unpredictable but charming concierge.
Casper needs a patient, cat-savvy adopter who understands that spice is a personality trait.
We do not recommend a home with children under 12. (Unless you don’t like your kids — in which case, we can talk.)
He tolerates other cats but will deliver a swift correction if they invade his personal bubble. Dogs? They’re fine… as long as they Respect The Casper. Those who do will survive.
If you’re ready for your next delightfully toxic relationship (with a fantastic reward system), Casper is your guy.
Please share — Casper deserves his perfect match.

Adoption fee $100 for adult ( over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home.
Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet.
Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier.
In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.
