Story
Elliot is a tabby and likely Siamese mix, who was part of a hoarding situation. When the house was vacated, he was part of 10 indoor cats who suddenly found themselves outside with no one to care for them. The neighborhood came together in effort to find homes for them, and Elliot was pulled into rescue, along with his former roomie, Charles. Elliot is friendly and wants to be loved. It's often harder for animals from hoarding situations to adjust, so he will need a quiet, patient and understanding forever family. Stay tuned for updates as his foster mom finds out more about him. If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has heath issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $165. covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, FIV/FELV test and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend, so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary, so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email Lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
UPDATE 11/1/2025: Through no fault of his own, Mateo is again available for adoption. Mateo's adopter's living situation changed, and he could not take Mateo with him. During their time together, Mateo proved to be a wonderful companion, keeping his human friend company all over the house and letting him know when it was bedtime every night. This poor boy has lost his home twice in the last several months and must be so confused. However, we did discover that he sorely missed his cat friends at his foster home, so it would be wonderful if he had a cat playmate in his forever home! His bestie is our foster kitty Elliot, another lynx point. ............................................ Mateo is a stunning lynx-point Siamese (half Siamese, half tabby) who was part of a hoarding situation. When the house was vacated, Mateo and his nine feline friends were turned outside to fend for themselves. Thankfully, the neighbors came together to care for them. LCAR's volunteer took three of them. Mateo is friendly and tolerant and seemingly well-adjusted for all his has gone through. Like most from hoarding situations, it may take extra time for him to adjust to a new family and situation, so Mateo will need a patient family willing to give him space and time. The photos all are of the Mateo; the lighting is different in one of them. If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has heath issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Story
Sol's Story Sol to you from the heart and eyes of her foster mom..... Sol was born on April 10, 2024, and has spent her time in two loving foster homes learning to trust people and prepare for her forever home. In that time, she has made wonderful progress — she enjoys being petted and scratched, loves to play, and has a naturally curious personality. Sol has a gorgeous fur and Siamese colored coat and beautiful round blue eyes that seem to look into your heart. Gentle pets, soft conversation, and unhurried companionship are her love language. Sol is still shy around new people and needs patience and time to feel safe in unfamiliar environments. She has never shown any aggression and does not bite or scratch. She does not enjoy being picked up but will tolerate it when necessary. She is the perfect match for someone who understands that connection doesn't have to be loud to be meaningful. Sol is fully vaccinated, spayed, and in excellent health. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home that respects her need for space while appreciating the sweetness she offers on her own terms. Sol would likely do best without small children who may try to pick her up. While her experience with dogs is unknown, she may do well with another friendly cat. With patience, consistency, and a gentle home, Sol will blossom into a loving and loyal companion. Sol is ready to leave her foster home, and it is now time for her to find the family that she deserves. Could it be you? If you are ready to adopt and make Sol your new purrrrfect match, please contact us today to meet this precious girl. Sol has her bags packed and is ready for a Meet and Greet with you. If you would you like to meet her, please complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry (HAL) adoption application located on our website. Here’s the link: https://halsc.org/adoption-form/ I look forward to meeting you! Sol
