Story
Meet Sunshine - Approximately 2–3-year-old - 10lbs - Spayed female Shih Tz She must have another friendly, confident dog in her adoptive home. Sunshine came from a large hoarding situation where she lived with about 60 other Shih Tzus, so much of the world is still new to her. Every day, she becomes a little braver, more curious, and more confident. Another dog is the key to helping Sunshine thrive. She closely watches and follows her foster brother who has shown her that people can be trusted, laps are comfortable, and walks are fun. When he jumps onto the couch or climbs into a lap, Sunshine climbs on right after him. She is sweet, gentle, and even-tempered. She is not barky, reactive, snappy, or demanding. Sunshine has a quiet, thoughtful nature, although she is feeling much spunkier lately and can be stubborn, theatrical, and opinionated. She has perfected the classic Shih Tzu side-eye, eye roll, and Judgement Face. Additional Notes: **She walks beautiful on leash, She loves her dialy neighborhood walks. **Loud or unfamiliar noises can still make her nervous, but she recovers quickly, would prefer a home without young kids **Loves chicken, peanut butter, and the company of other dogs **Sleeps quietly in her crate or on her couch throne **Handles being left alone without difficulty **Is doing much better at house training since the bladder stone is gone and goes potty when taken outside **Benefits from a predictable routine and regular opportunities to go outdoors What makes Sunshine special is watching her discover that the world is not such a frightening place after all. Every day she tries something new, trusts a little more, and lets more of her personality show. Medical: Sunshine comes Spayed, up to date on basic shots, microchipped, fecal testing (negative), 4dx testing (negative), and wellness check completed and cleared for adoption! Sunshine recently had surgery to remove a large bladder stone. She has recovered well and is clearly feeling better. Her veterinarian recommends that she remain on a prescription urinary diet, such as Royal Canin Urinary S/O, which she likes, to help reduce the risk of future urinary stones.

Meet Benny Given a Second Chance—Now Ready to Find the Forever Family He Deserves ❤️ Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Shih Tzu Mix Gender: Male | DOB: April 29, 2026 | Weight/Expected Size: 10 lbs (Expected Small to Medium) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats: Unknown | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Neuter Pending (Age-Appropriate) | ✔️ Current for Age Vaccinations | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Benny's Story Benny is proof that every puppy deserves a fresh start. At just a few months old, Benny was surrendered by his previous owner through no fault of his own. While losing the only home he had ever known was confusing, Benny has embraced his second chance with an open heart and a wagging tail. Now he's looking for a forever family that will love him for a lifetime. Benny is a cheerful, affectionate puppy who brings happiness wherever he goes. He loves meeting new people, exploring his surroundings, and playing with toys before settling in for cuddle time. His friendly personality and sweet nature make him easy to fall in love with. Curious and eager to learn, Benny enjoys discovering the world around him. Whether he's chasing after a ball, following you around the house, or curling up beside you for a nap, he's happiest when he's part of the family's daily adventures. As a Jack Russell Terrier / Shih Tzu Mix, Benny offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, playfulness, and affection. The Jack Russell side brings confidence, curiosity, and an energetic spirit, while the Shih Tzu contributes a loving, loyal, and people-oriented personality. With continued guidance and positive reinforcement, Benny is expected to mature into a devoted companion who enjoys both playtime and quiet moments with his family. Benny would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Positive reinforcement training Daily puppy exercise and supervised playtime Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization with people and other dogs A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where he's treated as a beloved member of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Benny's first family couldn't keep him, but that doesn't define his future. He's ready to find the family that will love him forever. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Benny is still a young puppy and is in one of the most important learning stages of his life. Like all puppies, he'll need guidance as he learns house manners, basic obedience, and confidence in new situations. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Benny will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training House-training and consistent routines Puppy-safe exercise and supervised play Continued socialization with people and other animals Mental enrichment through toys, games, and training sessions Plenty of patience, encouragement, and love With consistency and gentle guidance, Benny will grow into a confident, well-mannered, and loyal companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes providing veterinary care, training, exercise, and plenty of love. Benny will need: Completion of his puppy vaccination schedule Neutering when age-appropriate Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A high-quality diet to support healthy growth Daily exercise and mental stimulation Ongoing obedience training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Benny continues to grow into a healthy, happy adult dog.
