Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey, I’m Benny. Let me just say it—I think I’m basically the king of the house. I’m a sweet, affectionate boy who loves attention, and I’m not shy about asking for it either. If you’re sitting down, there’s a good chance I’m already planning my spot right in your lap. I’m a total lap dog through and through. I was born around October 1, 2020, and came in as a stray, but I didn’t let that slow me down. I quickly figured out that people = love, and I’m all about it. I thrive on human attention, enjoy being close to my people, and I’ll happily soak up every bit of petting and affection you’ve got. I’m friendly, outgoing, and I do great with other dogs too, so I can fit right in whether I’ve got furry siblings or I’m the center of your world. I do get a little excited sometimes and might bark to let you know how happy I am—but honestly, it’s just part of my charm. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines and prevention, and ready to move right in. My adoption fee is $500. To bring me home, apply at www.adoggie4you.org. I’m currently in Texas, but I can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. If I come to you, there is an additional $225 transport fee. I can’t go to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2026, 2:57 pm

Story
Meet Taffy! Taffy is a four year old, 10 pound Morkie (a Maltese Yorkie mix). Taffy is a quiet and docile little dog that has no idea what it means to be loved and spoiled but she’s learning what it’s like to have a gentle hand scratch her behind the ears and give her a warm lap to sleep on. She enjoys being wrapped in a warm blanket and being held. Taffy feels comfortable in her crate but likes to cautiously venture out to explore her new surroundings. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, even accepting several kittens sleeping on top of her. She’s still a bit confused by what to do with toys and dog beds. Taffy will benefit from a consistent routine to learn house training and leash training. She will need someone with the patience to let her personality blossom as she gains confidence in her new environment. Taffy would also thrive in a home with another similar-sized, confident, well-adjusted dog to help guide her and build her confidence. One thing Taffy does know is what she likes to eat! She can be a bit picky and prefers canned dog food and absolutely loves chicken. If you think you’re the person who can give this sweet little dog her “happily ever after” life that she deserves, apply for Taffy today! Taffy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Lizzy is a 1-year-old, 13 lb, female Shih tzu 🐾 Lizzy is a beautiful girl with the most unique coloring—reminiscent of a calico cat, making her truly one-of-a-kind both outside & inside. This sweet girl loves the simple joys in life, especially wondering around freely in a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and feel safe. Lizzy finds comfort in other dogs and will need a confident canine companion in her forever home to help guide her and show her the ropes. Lizzy is still learning to trust humans, and she’ll need a patient & understanding family willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. She may not show her love right away—but when she does it will be incredibly special and deeply earned. She sleeps in her crate, making great progress with potty training, and leash training will have to be done with gentle care. Lizzy does have a grade 5/6 heart murmur, and her future family will need to be prepared to support her medical needs. This may include veterinary care, medication, or a specialized diet to help her live as comfortably and happily as possible. While per prognosis is uncertain, Lizzy deserves a home filled with compassion, commitment, and love. In return, Lizzy promises to give you her whole heart—however long she has—if you are willing to be patient enough to receive it. If you have a gentle heart, a loving dog to guide her, and the willingness to give Lizzy the care she deserves, she just might be your perfect match 💕 Lizzy is fostered in the Cincinnati area.
