Story
Lily is a 5-year-old, 10lb, Lahsa Apso/Poodle mix. She is house trained, comfortable on a leash, and demands very little other than cuddles. Lily is named after the Sheep Detective and has proven herself to be clever and brave, just like her namesake. She may not be solving mysteries (yet), but she is not afraid of a challenge. She quickly learned to climb stairs, walk on a leash, and wiggle her way onto her foster’s lap and demand affection. She is low energy, not requiring walks or much play. She hasn’t crossed the road yet, but she is easy to train, and we are sure in her new home she will enjoy experiencing new pastures with her forever family (too many sheep detective references?). She is a little shy at first, but once she is comfortable, she will become obsessed with you. She wants to follow her foster around the house and always keep an eye on her. When anyone is on the couch, Lily has to be on the couch with them, either in your lap or in her own bed. She is comfortable with the other dog in her foster home but does express clear boundaries by growling when she is uncomfortable, so she should not be housed with dogs that are reactive. Lily is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Brooks! Brooks and his friend were found by a kind-hearted person and brought to us when no owner could be located. We did our best to find where they belonged, but unfortunately no one ever came forward to claim them.  Brooks is a sweet, friendly boy who loves being close to his people. If you're looking for a lap dog, Brooks is happy to apply for the job. He enjoys attention, affection, and spending time with his family. He gets along with other dogs and is generally friendly with other pets, but can be bossy and try to be intimidating. Brooks can be a little resource protective at times with other dogs, too. Otherwise he does well and currently is rooming with 3 other dogs.  His adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, a negative 4DX test, and he is current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. If you'd like to make Brooks part of your family, please apply at www.adoggie4you.org. Brooks is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 1, 2026, 4:28 pm

Story
Meet Flufferkins! Flufferkins is a 13 lb, 6 year old Bichon Frise. She spent the first half of her life being bred at a puppy mill. She is learning that people are safe and is coming out of her shell. Flufferkins hasn’t learned the joy of toys or playing yet. With some patience a confident dog in the home, she will learn. In terms of house training, Flufferkins has learned to go outside when the door is opened and comes back in when it’s time. She will need routine and rewards to help her get it down. Flufferkins tends to hang around her crate, especially when she is nervous. She has slowly widened her area of exploration as she gets more comfortable. Flufferkins is waiting for someone who will give her an amazing second half of her life. She will love you endlessly in return. Flufferkins is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Plum Precious! Plum Precious is a quiet 6-year-old, 15 lb Bichon Frise. She comes from a puppy mill, so she's apprehensive about most things, but give her the chance and she'll frolic about the yard with much delight! She has done well in her foster home with loud children and her foster sister, Miss Scarlett. Plum loves food - especially cheese! She's still learning how to "dog" and doesn't quite get the purpose of a leash, squeaky toys or balls... But give her a crinkly snack toy and she's on it. Plum also loves to snuggle up with a blankie or towel and is good about using puppy pads. She likes observing things, so she doesn't need to be in the middle of the action, but if she's ignored for too long she'll bark for some affection. Plum truly is a precious, curious, little thing who will make your heart sing. Plum Precious is fostered in the Cincinnati area.
