Meet Jake! Affectionately known as “Jake from State Farm,” this 14-year-old Silky Terrier still has plenty of personality, pep, and love to give. Don’t let his age fool you—Jake enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, and being right in the middle of whatever his people are doing. ​ Jake is a social little guy who thrives on companionship and would love a home where someone is around often. He has a bit of FOMO and simply wants to be included in daily life. Once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate side shines through, and he quickly settles into being a loyal little shadow. ​ He would do best with patient, dog-savvy adopters who understand that while Jake is sweet, he can also be sensitive when feeling stressed or restrained. He may react when picked up unexpectedly or during grooming and vet handling, so respecting his boundaries and helping him feel secure is important. ​ Jake has lived successfully with a cat and is a bonded pair with Luna Bee. His interactions with dogs are still being evaluated, though he can be reactive around them. A calm home with respectful older children could be a good fit for him. ​ Like many senior dogs, Jake does have some ongoing medical needs, including a prescription urinary diet, regular grooming, dental care, and monitoring for mild heart disease and previous urinary issues. Despite this, he remains happy, engaged, and full of life. ​ Jake is looking for someone who will embrace both his quirks and his charm—a patient, loving home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, included, and adored. ​ Jake is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Meet Jasper and Chloe! This sweet pair of seniors are in a long-term relationship, and we cannot separate them after 45+ dog years together. They are in need of a home that can open their hearts to both easy-going dogs. Jasper, a Shih Tzu born in August 2011, is ready to go with the flow. Need someone to lend an ear (despite not being able to hear that well) or just be a calming presence? Jasper is your guy! Chloe, a Bichon Frise mix born in September 2014, is quite the friendly gal. She is missing some teeth, leaving her tongue hanging out of her mouth in an adorable fashion. She is scheduled for a double knee replacement, and will need a home that can help her recover. Jasper and Chloe are great little dogs who would love to join your home! Meet Leia! We don't know much about early in her life, but her previous owners moved to housing that did not allow them to take her along. They thought that Leia may have been used for breeding before they got her, but she is fixed now and ready to be part of your family. Leia, although vocal, is very friendly with people and does well with gentle children. Her estimated birthdate is in 2016, but she is still a lively dog. She is being monitored for a heart murmur, but currently does not require medication to treat it. We have not seen her interact with cats, but she may enjoy having a small canine friend. Leia needs a securely fenced yard with no gaps 4" or larger for her safety.
