MY RESCUE STORY
I once had a forever home and a caretaker who loved and cared for me. Unfortunately, my caretaker’s health suddenly declined, and they could no longer give me the care and attention I deserved. Wanting the best for me, the difficult decision was made to find me a new loving home.
Although saying goodbye to the life I knew wasn’t easy, I’m ready to begin a new chapter. I already know how wonderful it feels to be part of a family, and now I’m hoping to find another special person who will welcome me into their heart and give me a safe, loving home for the rest of my life.

I have a slightly longer tongue, so you may catch it adorably peeking out from time to time! It doesn’t cause me any discomfort or affect my daily life in any way. It’s simply one of my cute little features that makes me uniquely me.
MY PERSONALITY
My previous family loved me and truly wanted the best for me. Unfortunately, when my caretaker’s health significantly declined, they had to make the difficult decision to find me a new home where I could continue receiving all the love and care I deserve.
Having my whole world suddenly change has been a big adjustment, but I’m handling it beautifully. I’m a healthy, affectionate boy who absolutely loves people, and even in a completely new environment, I happily follow everyone around looking for pets, attention, and companionship. During my profile photoshoot, I even kept climbing onto one of the staff members’ backs because apparently I decided I deserved a piggyback ride!
I may be starting over, but my loving and trusting personality hasn’t changed. I already know what it means to be part of a family, and I’m ready to find someone special to share that love with again.
MY SOCIAL SKILLS
· With People: I’m super friendly with people and love greeting everyone I meet! I happily soak up pets, affection, and attention and am always excited to make a new human friend. I’m comfortable being picked up and held, and once I feel at ease with you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly for some extra love and belly rubs.
· With Dogs: I enjoy greeting new dogs and making friends, but I’m definitely more of a people’s pup at heart! I prefer to take my time rather than jumping straight into play and am perfectly happy doing my own thing.
· With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.
ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY
I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.
TRAINING & HABITS
I walk well on leash and follow my handler’s lead nicely, making me an enjoyable walking companion. I also have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs.
I don’t currently show signs of separation anxiety, but because I’m such a people oriented boy who forms strong bonds, I may become deeply attached to my forever family. Continuing to encourage healthy independence from the beginning will help me feel secure and confident even when my favourite people aren’t right beside me.
I’m also a quiet boy who rarely barks and already know how to settle and rest calmly in my kennel. Despite all the recent changes in my life, I’m adjusting beautifully and showing everyone what a sweet and adaptable companion I can be.
MY IDEAL HOME
I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with:

SPECIAL NOTES
I’m an incredibly sweet and affectionate boy who simply loves being around people. Even though my whole world has recently changed, I’ve handled everything with such a gentle and trusting heart. I happily follow people around, seek out pets and affection, and just want to be included in whatever my humans are doing. During my profile photoshoot, I even kept climbing onto a staff member’s back for a piggyback ride!
I already have so many wonderful qualities for home life. I walk nicely on leash, rarely bark, settle calmly in my kennel, and have excellent manners around food. Most importantly, I already know what it means to love and be loved by a family. My previous family wanted the very best for me, and now the volunteers and staff want the same. They’re especially hopeful that I’ll find a loving home where I can spend my senior years surrounded by comfort, companionship, and all the affection I deserve. I may be an older gentleman, but I still have so much love to give and so many happy memories left to make with my new family.
